Yarr dragons first got thar sea legs thanks t' the Wizard-Cap'n Reefheart. Nah t' be outdone by his nemesis Esesh, Reefheart brought along yarr dragons on his ship fer thar ability t' read the night sky 'n find thar way home by way o' stars 'n constellations. Natural leaders 'n tacticians, these dragons smartly climb thar way up the hierarchical chaos that be a pirate crew, t' become First Mates, sometimes even Captains o' ships. Occasionally they might step in the barrels o' grog or lemons, which ain't a problem as long as thar aren't any ikatako dragons hidin' inside.

Breeding

The Yarr Dragon can be bred by using a Loot Dragon and Platinum Dragon, in either order, at any Breeding Cave.

The Yarr Dragon was released on July 23rd, 2021 during Pirates in Paradise along with the Enfis Dragon.
An image of the Yarr Dragon was accidentally leaked on the DragonVale Facebook page on July 16, one week before its release, when they meant to post the Alure Dragon which was released that day. It was removed a few minutes later.

The Yarr Dragon's news message states, "You are a pirate." This is possibly a reference to the LazyTown song "You Are A Pirate".
The Yarr Dragon's design and hairstyle may be partly inspired by the infamous pirate Blackbeard (Edward Teach).
