The Warmth of Winter was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect iceberries and trade them at the Mirthful Market to receive prizes.

Iceberries needed to be collected and traded at the Mirthful Market. Each prize required a certain amount of iceberries to be traded in to be earned.

What is the Warmth of Winter event?[]

The Warmth of Winter's objective was to collect iceberries.

The "Info" section of Prizes section in the Warmth of Winter Help Menu provided a display of the info box for their respective prizes which were viewed by clicking the prize after obtaining it.


Tutorial[]

The Warmth of Winter started with a tutorial explaining how Warmth of Winter will work.

The process of this tutorial can be viewed in the gallery to the right.

The tutorial took a few minutes to complete from beginning to end, but players received 100 as a goal completion reward after completing the tutorial.

When there is a snowy border around the Visitors icon, there are Hidden Presents in the park.

  The snowy border does not recognize Lumi and/or Molten Rock and disappears even if they have not been found yet.

Daily Gifts[]

During Warmth of Winter, players were able to claim one free gift from Mount Valesuvius every day they login. The number of gifts players can claim for free is equal to the total number of days they have logged in during the event. If the player fell behind during the event, they could choose to catch up using gems or log in during the final few days of the event.

For Warmth of Winter, there were a total of 43 daily gifts, which are listed in the table below.

Returning Dragon of Choice*
*Dragons to choose from: all dragons released during Warmth of Winter except the Ghostly Dragons, plus Eve Dragon.
*Day 27 & 28 rewards were higher probably because of New Year's Eve & New Year's Day.

Cooperative Breeding[]

During Warmth of Winter, players could breed with a level 5 Regift Dragon provided by the nonplayable character Lumi in the Cooperative Breeding Cave.

In the Arctic Amphitheater, Lumi provided a level 10 Gift Dragon.


ROI[]

Return on Investment - how much DC you get per event currency by purchasing and selling an item.

At the end of this event, all remaining event currency will be converted into Dragon Cash at a rate of 1,000 DC per currency. However, as some decorations and dragon pedestals can be purchased with only a handful iceberries and have a high sell price, the player is able to manually create a higher value per event currency by buying and selling certain items.

For Warmth of Winter, the recommended order for items to buy for Dragon Cash include:

  • Surface Habitat - 15,000 per spent
  • Lace Pedestal - 7,500 per spent
  • Tinsel Pedestal - 7,083 per spent
  • Verglace Pedestal - 6,957 per spent
  • Ribbon Pedestal - 6,818 per spent
  • Blazing Gale Pedestal, Hidden Bolt Pedestal, Icy Torrent Pedestal, Iron Blossom Pedestal or Mountain Sun Pedestal - 6,667 per spent
  • Reindeer Pedestal - 1,333 per spent
  • There are no cheaper items with an ROI greater than the default 1,000 per .

Event Market Advertisement Watching Option[]

  • Players were offered the option to watch an advertisement while in the event market for extra event currency this event.
    • This had a limit of two times.
    • If less than 50 event currency away from the item it offered 50 event currency.
    • If more than 50 event currency away but less than 100 event currency away it offered the remaining amount of event currency needed to get the item.
    • If at 0 event currency the above rules still applied so it was possible to get an item that cost 100 event currency or less by watching an advertisement the second time.

  It was noticed during Deepest Depths that this feature did not work during the last two days of being able to spend event currency once event currency collection ended and the event island went away.

  • On December 7, 2024, it was made possible to collect twice the amount of iceberries from completing the tasks in the Warmth of Winter event. This was a promotion and only lasted for 48 hours.
    • On December 10, 2024, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 24 hours.
    • On December 14, 2024, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 48 hours.
    • On December 18, 2024, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 24 hours.
    • On December 21, 2024, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 48 hours.
    • On December 26, 2024, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 24 hours.
    • On December 28, 2024, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 48 hours.
    • On January 1, 2025, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 24 hours.
    • On January 4, 2025, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 48 hours.
    • On January 7, 2025, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 24 hours.

    • While not part of the announcement, it has been noticed that events with six weeks, that Week 6 has a Double Event Currency Day on a Wednesday.

Triple Iceberries[]

  • On December 25, 2024, it was made possible to collect thrice the amount of iceberries from completing the tasks in the Warmth of Winter event.


Special Holiday Gift[]

  • On December 18, 2024, DECA Games posted on the DragonVale Facebook that players with parks at level 11 or higher will receive a special gift if they log in on December 20th or 21st.
    • The special gift was in the "Gifts" section of the Social Menu from DECA Games with the title: "Happy Holidays from the DragonVale team!"
    • The special gift contained the following:  25,000,000,  25,000,  15, and  2,000.
