Upheaval of the Medieval was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect magic and trade them at the Market of Many Things to receive various rewards.
Magic needed to be collected and traded at the Market of Many Things. Each reward required a certain amount of magic to be traded in to be earned.

What is the Upheaval of the Medieval Event?[]
Upheaval of the Medieval's objective was to collect magic.
The Help Menu in Upheaval of the Medieval provided info on some key aspect of the event.
Tutorial[]
Upheaval of the Medieval starts with a tutorial explaining how the event will work.
The process of this tutorial can be viewed in the gallery to the right.
The tutorial takes a few minutes to complete from beginning to end, but players received 100 as a goal completion reward after completing the tutorial.
Earning Magic[]
- Breeding dragons & hatching eggs
- Purchasing dragons with Gems
- Collecting from habitats (500 magic limit per day)
- Viewing visions from Tolzar
- Competing in the Colosseum & The Fair Grounds
- Playing games at the Arcade of Antiquity
- Collecting daily rewards at the Grafted Giftstone
- Finding adventurers holding elemental flags in your park
- Donating dragons at the Donation Deck

When enough magic is collected, they were able to be used at the Market of Many Things for unique prizes in any order.
Special Visitors[]
When there is an orange border around the Visitors icon, there are Banner Bearing Visitors in the park.
If clicked on, the Banner Bearing Visitors will grant 25 on standard days / 50 on double days.
- This event's Banner Bearing Visitors are the same as those for Elder Dragons. As a result, in parks with elder dragons, without the help of the Prismatic Pantheon it is impossible to determine whether a bearer will give DragonCash/Gems or Magic until tapped on.
- When using the Prismatic Pantheon, these event visitors are of the Epic element in Upheaval of the Medieval. This is different from their past appearances before 2023 or the elder-dragon-honoring bearers which have the element(s) corresponding to their color(s)/element(s).
ROI[]
Return on Investment - how much DC you get per event currency by purchasing and selling an item.
At the end of this event, all remaining event currency will be converted into Dragon Cash at a rate of 1,000 DC per currency. However, as some decorations and dragon pedestals can be purchased with only a handful Magic Eggs and have a high sell price, the player is able to manually create a higher value per event currency by buying and selling certain items. The table below has been created for players looking to get the most out of their excess magic eggs by listing the ROI values for each item featured in the event.
Note: The dragon names listed in the ROI table represent the dragon's pedestal and NOT the dragon itself. This is because the dragon's egg pedestal is 1/10 the price, but still sells for the same price.

Event Market Advertisement Watching Option[]
- Players were offered the option to watch an advertisement while in the event market for extra event currency this event.
- This had a limit of two times.
- If less than 50 event currency away from the item it offered 50 event currency.
- If more than 50 event currency away but less than 100 event currency away it offered the remaining amount of event currency needed to get the item.
- If at 0 event currency the above rules still applied so it was possible to get an item that cost 100 event currency or less by watching an advertisement the second time.
- During the last day of the Upheaval of the Medieval some attempts to use this feature resulted in watching the advertisements but not receiving the promised event currency.

- The magic collection ran through June 23, 2024, and concluded on June 24, 2024 at the daily reset. But the Market of Many Things stayed open for two additional days to give players time to spend their excess Magic.

- Prior to the start of the Upheaval of the Medieval, players were able to see and obtain new content which had not yet been released into the game on May 9, 2024 for a few hours prior the the event starting.
- One unreleased dragon and pedestals were accidentally made available in the Wishing Well.
- Players were able to view the design, elements, earning rates, breeding time, and other information regarding the unreleased dragon.
- If the player had a Wish, they could use one to obtain the unreleased dragon early.
- The name of the unreleased dragon was shown in its respective Dragonarium categories.
- Players were able to see the unreleased dragon's baby form by adding the dragon to their wishlist.
- After the event began players were able to view the dragon and its egg via the "Guess That Dragon" and "Guess That Egg" game.
- This dragon was the Polarus Dragon which was released on October 1, 2024 during the Summerthings Magical II event.
