DragonVale has unique currency for players to collect and use to interact with specific content.
Some unique currency such as Eternal Essence and Vital Essence is earned through performing specific actions within the game.
Other unique currency such as Abundant Essence and Soul Shards are earned through collecting from habitats.
Wishes are earned as part of the Daily Rewards on the 100th day of the 100 day cycle.

- Wishes were first interactive for players to use on August 18, 2016 when players were given the Wishing Well and
1 during the Arcane Pentournament. - Eternal Essence was introduced on May 18, 2017 at the start of Kairos' second birthday.
- Abundant Essence was introduced on April 25, 2018, along with the Ts'aishen and the Vault of Abundance.
- Vital Essence was introduced on May 30, 2019.
- Soul Shards were introduced on June 14, 2021, but were unable to be used or gained until October 25, 2021 when the Dragon Draw was introduced.
- Time Skip Tokens were introduced on August 10, 2023 during Camping Under the Stars II.
