Treats[]

Market treat

Treats are items used to level up your dragons. You can obtain Treats by growing them on treat farms, purchasing them with real money, as a gift from a friend with Goody's Treatery, collecting from Ma Goody's Magical Greenhouse, or from quests.

To feed your dragon Treats, first select the dragon you wish to level up. When the dragon's info page pops up, you will notice a green button at the bottom which says "Feed". If you have the amount of Treats needed to feed your dragon, you can tap the button. Once a dragon is fed, the progress bar to the next level will fill by 25%.

Every time a dragon advances to the next level, it will become visually larger, and the number of treats needed to feed the dragon will double (unless it has a trait). Dragons which have a Rift trait have a substantially higher number of treats needed to level them up.

Treats Per Level

The amount of Treats per level can also be found here on the Dragons page.

Buying Treats in the Market[]

Treats can be purchased with real money via the in-game market, within the Treasure sub-section. The images above in the gallery show how many treats the player can buy per US Dollar. As with all in-app purchases in DragonVale, there are incentives to spend more on the purchase by providing more items per dollar in each successive spending bracket.

Note that the purchase of these, as well as the other treasures in DragonVale, is NOT necessary to experience full gameplay. The purchases only function to speed up the player's progress.

Treat Prices[]

Effective July 24, 2013, the amount of Treats available within each type varies by the player's game level. Treats can be purchased for:

Name Prices
Pile of Treats £0.62 $0.99 €0.75
Sack of Treats £1.49 $1.99 €1.79
Bag of Treats £2.99 $4.99 €4.49
Box of Treats £6.99 $9.99 €8.99
Chest of Treats £17.49 $24.99 €21.99
Trunk of Treats £34.99 $49.99 €44.99

Growing Treats[]

On each farm's page are the details for each treat. On the Treat Farms page, there is a concise quick-reference chart that summarizes the differences between the Treats, as well as a chart detailing how many Treats are needed per level to increase an individual dragon's level.

Treats can be grown in DragonVale by using treat farms. There are five types of treat farms available; the Treat Farm, Large Treat Farm, Huge Treat Farm, the Grand Treat Farm and the Towering Treat Garden. Each successive treat farm allows you to grow more types of Treats on them. The differences between the types of Treats are: the cost, the growing time, crop yield, and experience points earned. Otherwise, there is no functional difference between them, and they are all pooled together in your Treats total (seen in the upper right-hand corner of the game screen).

Find more information about all the different kinds of treats here.

Real Fruits[]

Dragonfruit real

Dragon Fruit are actually real. They are one of the most exotic looking fruits available with bright pink skin and green tipped leaves and a white, pink or red flesh speckled with black seeds.[1]

The Dragon Snap could be based on the flower called Snap Dragon.

Notes[]

  • As of October 9, 2013, gems could be used to level up dragons. The amount of gems required to level up a dragon can be found on this table.
    • When the Rift was released, dragons with a trait could instead be levelled up using etherium.
  • On an unknown date, the font for the number of Treats that can purchased in the market was changed.
  • The number of treats needed to fully max out every dragon in the game (as of Kotun's release) is just shy of ten billion. This assumes that the player has every dragon without a rift trait (if possible).
