The Tines of the Scar is a structure with very special abilities that are said to be the key to uncover the Light and Dark dragons, who disappeared from history eons ago.
To summon the dragons, the Tines need to collect magic from every DragonVale park around the world. Depending on the type of magic that is sent to them, the Tines change their appearance and enable the corresponding dragon and decorations to be released, along with unique rewards proportional to the amount of magic that each individual player sent to the structure.
After the first element is released, players will only be able to contribute to the remaining element, until the rewards for that type are released.
When the two new Elements are released, the Tines of the Scar will vanish, having served its purpose in the world.

Chronological Development
- On October 11, 2013 both the Light Magic and Dark Magic indicators appeared on the Tines of the Scar.
- On October 15, 2013 the second Light Magic indicator appeared.
- On October 16, 2013 the second Dark Magic indicator appeared.
- On October 21, 2013 the third Light and Dark Magic indicators appeared.
- On October 24, 2013 the fourth Light Magic indicator appeared.
- On October 25. 2013 appendages appeared on the 4th Light Magic indicator and on the 3rd Dark Magic indicator.
- On October 26, 2013 the fifth Light Magic indicator appeared.

- Bottom prism changes behavior according to the stored amount of magic:
- 0 to 250 magic : prism is inert
- 250 to 750 magic : prism sends magic sparks
- 750 to 1500 : prism sends magic sparks and bubbles
