I guess it may be time to start a new thread if the other starts to push 300 messages, lol.
I had originally put the time restriction for Misfortune Dragon in the notes, like it is with Moon Dragon for consistency sake and someone has moved it to the breeding section. As I'm not 100% familiar with the Wiki, I didn't want to edit that information again (though I think it should be in the notes for consistency sake).
At least it's a new dragon, I just wish it wasn't limited. I really hope that you can get your game to work soon and the crashing can be fixed. Not that this is much, but I noticed my game wasn't lagging as much in the Rift as it normally does when I play on my iPad.
I spent some gems quickly to speed breed to Rosebud. Now I just need to try to get into the CBC to try to pair off with someone to get Misfortune (the dragon) before it expires. In the rift dimension my pair that is locked for now of Lodestone and Gift gave me a rifty Silver.
I managed to breed a rifty Gold yesterday, hopefully I can breed a rifty Apocalypse soon. Meanwhile, I'm trying in both the Breeding Cave and Island trying for Misfortune with no luck so far. I don't mind limited dragons (would prefer permanent ones) but I do wish they'd give up a time frame for them.
Nice, yesterday with my locked pair I was able to finally get a Moon rift and an Apocalypse rift. Now if I could only get the Apocalypse and Silver into the breeding cave to try for the Misfortune Dragon since right now I'm stuck with only the CBC and possibly having to use gems.
I have had no luck getting an Apocalypse rift or Misfortune in any of the other three locations. This is probably one of the hardest dragons, mainly because it has a ton of long fails. I really hope there is at least two weeks for this thing when a lot of the fails have 24H+ timers. I'm hoping to get an Apocalypse rift soon so I can have attempts in all four locations.
Still no luck with an Apocalypse rift. My 3 other breeding caves are clogged with long fails as well as my nursery. At this rate, depending on how long Misfortune sticks around, I will either need to hope that a friend puts it up in the CBC or wait for BEB to come around... or an Apocalypse collection comeback. Besides the Clydesdale egg (I know that's not the dragon's name lol), this has to be one of the most elusive first releases for me in a long time.
I managed to breed a regular Misfortune in the rift today, now I just need the eggs.
I'm kind okay with the new Legendary dragon. It's definitely a long-term project. It is definitely going to take awhile to earn the Abundant Essence even if there isn't a daily limit; it definitely slows down if you're constantly collecting. I don't think you can get the essence through quests or racing (I haven't seen any in chests yet). Although, I think the plan was for this to take awhile rather than something that the majority of players can get in a day or two. Now if only they'd release some Golden Hybrids...
I can't figure it out, but the baby form of Misfortune reminds me of a character from an animated movie. I want to say one by 20th Century or Disney, but I'm can't figure out which movie it would be.
No Misfortune Dragon yet for me, but congrats on yours.
The hard part with this new legendary is going to be getting the individual 30 artifact parts and whole images on their own; as well as the different stages of the Vault. It was cool someone uploaded an image with the dragon I was able to render quickly earlier.
My iPad is so laggy since the update, especially in the Rift. I am planning on eventually upgrading my iPad (was planning to even before). While it works fine, it's still quite bit old now. I can put Misfortune up in Co-Op soon (basically just have to wait for it to finish breeding). I managed to breed the four I needed/wanted. Two traited and two regular. Oddly enough, I bred all four of them in the Rift. Three by using one as a parent.
This event is a "nightmare" of an event for me right now. I still can't really breed as it crashes when I hit "breed' almost every time. Additionally since last week almost every I select "retry" after the appstore update it crashes. It crashed twice in the tutorial and about another ten times just scrolling to slowly collect currency from habitats, and currency collection and mini games don't exist so earning daily max seems very daunting, if not expensive, at this point for me.
Yeah, it took me over an hour to do 12 rift breeds yesterday since it would crash when I would sell/hatch and crash when I hit retry. I did one "retry" so far today and it appears like the crashing will continue.
Hopefully you can get it. The game keeps crashing a lot for me. I don't even know when some dragons or items come and go anymore since that seems to be more of a revolving door and with all the crashes it is hard to tell. I missed when the Pillar of Prophecy and the Apocalypse Dragon left the market. The social menu crashes a lot too, but it lets me in once in awhile after some tries, unlike the breeding areas.
Even with the update things crash a lot. It is still hard to keep track of when things are coming and going to update on the wiki. From a player perspective with someone who has a game that doesn't crash all these updates are probably great though. I think the event ends soon too.
I would have preferred that they didn't do an event to introduce this new content. It's not that new and they could have avoided some headache by just releasing the content. But I guess the event had more potential to earn them money than just releasing the content (a part that doesn't bother me too much at this point since most other events a player can pretty much get at least all of the new content without spending money).
I definitely wasn't able to get everything. I missed out on the two dragons which might come from mystery eggs at some point or if I can get into the Cooperative Breeding Cave and the galaxy habitats which might come around some other time. For the time being I picked up the Meridiem Habitat and Celestial Habitat if I need more galaxy room.
I ended up with the two dragons and the 5th galaxy island. I skipped the 2nd Celestial and Meridiem habitats and the 6th galaxy island. I figured I didn't really need them at this point, and I can always use a wish if I want/need. I'm just working on the pedestals right now. I did manage to get a twin Glimmerwing though, so I have that pedestal.
This crashing is getting bad. I couldn't even look at the list of dragons in the comeback without an almost instant crash...at least I was able to open the social menu at all. I wanted to get the dragons on the list so I know which are back in the comeback so the wiki could update.
I noticed that. I hope it's not like the last (or worse than the last). I guess we'll find out what it's about today. It's the last day of school here and Summer camp starts up next week after the holiday weekend. I'm kind of hoping it goes by quickly... only because I've ordered a swimmable mermaid tail (that is dragonscale patterned) but won't ship for 4-8 weeks. So if this is the long summer event, maybe it will help keep me distracted from the wait, lol.
I'm wondering if these shorter events are their way of testing out new ways of doing events. Maybe collecting from habitats as a way of earning event currency is a thing of the past? I generally hope not, but it's starting to seem that way. Not 100% thrilled with this event. Though I do like that the new dragons can be bred (with luck). I'm not sure of these hidden chests: today I found 16 bronze, 3 silver, and 1 gold. Not sure if that's all of them since I hit the limit before finding them all and I'm not sure the respawn once you reach the limit. It's another get more rings if you hatch/display the dragon rather than selling/releasing. The not releasing part bugs me with the Rift. Etherium is hard enough to get without wasting it on failed breed attempts, at least releasing gives you something back. Guess I need to try for a traited Loot.
I still can't switch my breeding pairs so I just hit retry in the rift. I lost count yesterday on the chests, but maybe I'll sit with a tally system this time and try to get them all for the page. I had over 500 rings just from chests before I just bred the rest last day.
At least the mystery eggs can be found during the double ring days and can give you the new dragons. 3 out of 4 were the the new dragons for me (the 4th one was a twin Opulent). I am just missing Djinni now. But I’m waiting for the last couple of days before actually purchasing the mystery egg through the prize market. I did purchase the pedestals though.
Most of mine were twin Regal. I spent the remaining currency of the eggs since that probably had a better cash turn out than what BFS would have given. I did get a few extra pedestals (twin rift) out of them. Out of all the mystery eggs (double days and through the market) I only received 1 Scarab and 1 Djinni.
I really haven't been playing on my iPad since I upgraded my phone to the iPhone 8. It's not that the iPad was crashing, but there was a good bit of lag, especially in the Rift. I'm hoping to get lucky with the new Snowflake and breed it, but chances are slim as my luck with breeding the new event dragons (when possible during the event) seems low. I might try in at least two of the breeding areas. I will still need to breed for the Fireflight pedestal eventually.
My phone was pretty old (as phones go nowadays) and it was used when I bought it from my cousin (who owns a business repairing phones and computer screens). I went through my carrier for the upgrade with no down payments and it's just a monthly payment added on to my phone bill. I still have my iPad Air; though that will be my next big upgrade. I ended up selling my old phone to a friend (which actually paid for my new mermaid tail - justified by it being exercise equipment).
That's cool. I'll have to see what happens. Just about everything else with my device operates fine with maybe small crashes every once in awhile with a different app; nothing like the constant crashes with DragonVale.
I really didn't need to upgrade my phone, but I really wanted the Product(RED) edition of the iPhone; I thought about getting the 8 Plus, but decided against it and just got the 8 (saved some money by not going with the plus). I figure I'll eventually upgrade the iPad, but as I mostly use my phone right now, I'm in no rush to do so.
I got lucky with breeding this time around and managed to breed the new Snowflake dragon so I didn't need to purchase it.
I don't know why exactly...probably mostly due to not being able to breed anything...but between crashing yesterday morning I bought the Snowflake Dragon...even though I probably should just saved the tickets.
I was actually surprised that I managed to breed it during the event. There isn't an hourglass in the Dragonarium for it, so it's probably not limited (just like the other Snowflake dragons).
This is going to be a rough week, I think. It's our first field trip and I know parents are going to be upset that their child isn't allowed to go because they missed the deadlines. I had one earlier today, but she was understanding about it. This is one field trip that we have to stick with the numbers we gave to the location due to the nature of the location. There's about 34 kids going, there would have been more but some did not turn in permission slips yesterday (which was the last day to turn them in); it's not like the parents didn't know about this either. I really don't care for field trip week... the next two shouldn't be that big of a deal. The next one in July is a first responder type field trip (we're having the Sheriff's Department's Mounted Unit come to the center in the morning and then we'll be touring a fire rescue station in the afternoon), which should be fairly easy. The last field trip in August is to a local roller skating rink (probably the easiest field trip of the summer). With all this hassle, this is still shaping up to be a decent summer; not nearly has horrible as some past summers. Now I'm off to get lunch.
Hopefully lunch was good. The crashing is getting to the point of not being able to play. It is pretty much the only app that is crashing on my device. I looked at the new iPad and the screen size doesn't bother me as much as I thought it might in its larger size. I just don't know if a new mini will come out soon, but an iPad mini 4 is around 300 and the newest iPad is around 330...so price wise when spending that much money already the 30 dollars may be worth it for the newer model. It is still a lot though and doing it for one app seems hard to justify. If it was a different game I probably wouldn't spend this much time considering spending the money and just stop playing the game.
I have a hard time imagining either one of us quitting DV anytime soon. Honestly, it’s definitely something to consider. Even if other apps work perfectly fine on the old/current iPad, the quality ends up being better with the newer models. I’ve found that to be the case with my phone. Apps that worked perfectly fine on my 6s, have better quality on the 8. The graphics just end up being better overall. It is a lot of money, but it might be worth it in the long run? Something worth thinking about at least.
Friday's field trip went off without too much hassle. The kids seemed to really enjoy themselves at the Children's museum.
I'm beginning to wonder if they will eventually release a Co-Op breeding cave for the Rift (I kind of hope so). It would be a nice feature with them releasing limited Rift hybrids now - even though they will back around with breeding hints at a future date.
I'm kind of getting tired of all these limited dragons. Besides Tidepool, it's been a while since we've had a permanent dragon (especially an epic). I have managed to breed Sunscorch in both the regular park and the Rift... Chromacorn is proving elusive in the Rift. The more limited Rifts they release, the more I hope they'll introduce a Co-Op cave in the Rift. I may end up using a wish on Chromacorn (though I guess I could wait until BEB if I don't get one before it leaves).
There seems to be a lot of limited releases and few permanent releases for a while now. Hopefully this coming soon thing is more mini than all of everything. It is almost becoming too much updating all the pages for a BEB...and I'm sure some were missed last BEB with limited habitats or something.
I haven't seen any comments about it, but I am wondering if anyone has noticed any changes to the dragon pages or main page in the past few days.
Too bad there's not an easy way to edit all the limited pages during a BEB... like a switch that gets flipped and all limited content is marked as available when it's on and then marked unavailable when it's off.
The easy way for the boxes is to change the limited tag for expired to say yes. the only issue there are the five dragons which may not be included. The harder part is editing the release history, but thankfully Awesome coded something to at least cover the individual dragons so it is just making sure it got to each one. Decorations and I suppose habitats need to added at the moment, but the Nogard definitely helps.
At least it's a little easier. Sometimes I wish I had time to help edit, but other times I don't miss it. Summer for me is always hectic but I'll at least be able to take a week vacation in August before school (which means our afterschool program) starts back up.
I know what you mean about the time. That is part of why ...most...of the pages that used to get updated aren't. Part of that also is with the amount of content that gets released and that there hasn't been many image contributors for certain images. I know we just affiliated with the subreddit so that may help.
Otherwise I've been working on some "redesigns" such as the Dragonboxes and the main page (hopefully the completed version will go live soon) to try to generate more excitement for the wiki again. It is great to see that Backflip coded into the game some of the projects we kept track of here such as breeding formulas/hints, checklists (sort of Dragonarium) for pedestals and dragons (even decorations while not as widely used).
The one thing that would really help is if there was a part of the Dragonarium that just listed all currently available limited dragons and decorations instead of having to sift through the hourglasses individually. I accidentally missed some exit and arrival dates the past few months due to Last Calls and Now Here messages not coming to the Social Menu for every dragon. Examples being, Bloom exit date, Bearded exit date, Butterfly exit date, and Firework arrival date.
That would be a nice feature in the Dragonarium. I'd also like a section for dragons that I don't have rather than having to go through different sections to see them all; same with pedestals. I know I'm missing quite a few pedestals now with the Great Dragon Faire being expensive on the cost side of things. I'm still missing one of the new Galaxy dragon pedestals. I ended up using a wish for the Chromacorn (which is an interesting "dragon"). I still need that pedestal. I'm mainly working on pedestals and rift versions.
Those would all be very helpful if they were in game. I've had similar thoughts on those features as well. I am still trying for a DRD rift to even try for Chromacorn. At least I'm getting some rift versions I didn't have before.
I thought the breeding hint from Chromacorn was Rainbow and Rainbow? Though I did see someone say they got it with Rainbow and DRD. Anyways, looks like I'm having trouble logging in to the game right now. I tried on WiFi and then without WiFi and still nothing. I guess I will try again when I get home seeing as much lunch break is almost over.
I've been breeding Rainbow and Chromacorn in the Rift trying for a Chromacorn pedestal... not luck on the pedestal, but I am getting a lot of dragons and pedestals I'm needing (it helps that there is a BEB going on right now).
I have finally managed to breed a Panlong Rift. That dragon has been so elusive and I have missed it every time it was released since getting a Rift version. I really am getting quite a few dragons that I've been missing Rift versions for, along with pedestals. I'm still missing a lot, but at least this BEB has been good for my Rift breeding.
My social is filled with twins. I'll probably need to halt some breeding until I get through them all. Even if I don't need them, I still like to incubate them and then sell them. Not sure how many of the ones in my social I actually need for either the pedestal or the dragon.
It would be nice if they could tell you if you needed the pedestal from the social menu.
Looks like Galaxy rift dragons via mystery eggs are going on...I spent around 400k etherium and ended up with 16/18 dragons (twin rift) and 13/18 pedestals. Now I'm saving up there so I can keep trying Rainbow rift and Portent rift to get DRD rift to try for Chromacorn. I don't expect to get them though and probably should have tried for rift something else instead. I did get a bunch of rift versions I didn't have though and now have a list of which ones in Hibernation to take out if I get more habitat space since I halted habitats at 43 for now.
As for twins, I know I'm missing a bunch and will eventually should try to clear through the social menu as well...I guess with the rift thinking of waiting on the longer times suddenly seem long.
I really need to build up my Rift. I need more space for more habitats. I could place habitats but just not upgrade them since I don't have space but they're expensive. I will probably stop Rift breeding for a while to help build up my Rift. That's always my plan but then they release a new limited Rift dragon...
I received my mermaid tail on Monday and swam for a little on Tuesday morning before clocking in for work. I was planning on swimming during my lunch break but it decided to storm. I swam yesterday on my lunch break and then again this morning with the kids. It's so relaxing even though it's good exercise. Now that summer camp is coming to a close, I'll have to figure out when I can swim (will probably be during my lunch break or before work). I'll miss the "normal" hours, but I'm ready for camp to be over with. Tomorrow is the last day and then I'm on vacation until the 13th when schools start back up.
Not quite sure how I feel about this event's setup yet. No daily limit and very limited on how to earn the magic. I understand doing away with the daily limit as that was a big complaint a lot of people had... but personally I kind of liked it because then I knew I was getting all the event currency I could. I don't like how few ways there is to earn magic. The biggest way is to donate dragons from breeding, but that can take forever due to breed times (almost feels like they are "forcing" players to use gems to speed up breeding and incubating). At least most of the new dragons are breedable. I managed to breed a Kaiju pretty early on in the event and I even managed to breed a traited Sprite in the Rift. The size difference between Kaiju and the Surface habitat is a bit off. Besides the dragons, I still also need to get the Apocalypse Island Theme... I have enough magic for it but I'm trying to wait before getting it.
Things happen. I haven't been on the wiki much in the last week or so (not that I was all that active before then) with things going on. I had Friday off so I was relaxing and doing somethings around the house. Saturday I worked all day. Sunday was spent doing things around the house and resting from Saturday. Monday was a holiday and spent doing yard work and some grocery shopping. Tuesday I was at the courthouse for jury selection and then getting things ready for the tropical storm. Tuesday night was little sleep due to the tropical storm, and Wednesday was spent at the courthouse again going through the jury selection (I'm guessing they sent us home early Tuesday due to the impending storm - that and the trial didn't start until today - which I was not selected to be on the jury).
There were things about this event that I liked but a lot that I didn't like. Luckily, however, I did manage to get all the dragons without spending magic on them.
I have spent at least 700 gems trying to get these decorations and until I spent 100 more yesterday, was missing five decorations...now I'm only missing four.
I need one more for Porcelain (have around 60 something multiples of decorations I don't need though.)
I need two more for Wrath (have around 46 multiples of decorations I don't need.)
I need one more day decoration for Corrupticorn (have around 20 multiples of decortaions I don't need.)
I get not being able to breed a Chromacorn for weeks or only have ghostly primarires despite double cave breeding for over a week, but this decoration thing is way too much and takes the fun out. In my opinion, the daily reward chests should have given a decoration someone didn't have.
I’m still missing five decorations. 1 for Porcelain and 4 for Corrupticorn. I finally managed to get the last one I needed for Wrath last night. I’m hoping to get at least the decorations even if I can’t evolve the dragons. If they hadn’t released the Ghostly dragons I would have plenty to keep trying for chests. There are a lot of things I find wrong with this event. The price of rewards (855 per chest is ridiculous especially when you get a bunch of duplicates (and those duplicates only sell for 50)). I agree about the daily chests should not have given anyone duplicates. Or they could allowed players to choose from the possible decorations that are found in the chests. I have also only been given a chest once from Whitbee. I also think the chest in the mini-games should be around at least two rounds instead of just one. I managed to get it once the other day but 2 out of the 3 chests were duplicates.
The ideas they released during this event (evolving dragons, the ghostly versions, etc. I don’t mind, it’s the execution I have a problem with. It’s hard to defend BFS against the greed comments now after this event... because it does seem like they are being greedy. I don’t even think we got as many double days as we have in the past when the changes them to every other day rather than just weekends (really just Saturday and Sunday). They could have also extended the event with all the content they released. At least I was able to breed the three limited hybrids...
The management at Backflip has changed at least three times in the past two or three years. The Game Director was around for around 5.5 years of the game...the second Game Director apparently left the company in August from what I heard so they are on a third one now.
I know a lot of other staff had changed at the company too besides the Game Directors so that could explain things a little bit.
I don't like "evolving" as their term. It isn't an evolution, it is a transformation.
Now after spending about 200 gems in the past 24 hours I am just missing one of each for this evolution thing, but am sitting around 140 combined multiples I can't use. I don't even know if there is a point in selling them. Two of the three I'm missing around from day chests though Corrupitcorn Orange, Wrath Red, Porcelain Purple.
...some more gems spent and I'm only missing Corrupticorn's orange flame...I was going to sacrifice my only Chromacorn if I get it with the chance I may get a Chromacorn later on more easily than a Corrupticorn...more so missing out on the only decoration I need and not knowing if it will return for a BEB or if there will even be a BEB this winter since they did it in the summer is frustrating. Actually, the majority of the event has been frustrating which makes it less fun to play than in the past. At least there were more golden hybrids...although I don't necessarily agree with making them limited event prizes; never really liked how that was the case with Thorn.
I have never agreed with regular hybrids being limited either. I spent quite a few gems last night trying to get the Purple Flame from the Night chest (through the games) with absolutely no luck. Nothing but duplicates. I am only missing the Purple Flame and Purple Ornament. Duplicate decorations like that are the most frustrating part of this event.
I think a lot of players are calling it quits after this event. As frustrating and less fun as this event has been I can't see myself quitting just yet. BFS is usually good about listening to player concerns and feedback so there's no telling what the future holds. Overall, I didn't mind some concepts that were introduced into the game this event, but the way they went about it was frustrating.
I didn't get the last orange flame I needed. With the 12,250 candy I have I am just getting two Spooky Habitats and a Chromacorn Pedestal and spending 12,000. I wasted candy on 7 Day Chests and probably spent around 1,500 gems this event. If more events are like this I am not wasting my gems to that extent; I'm going to start saving up again for BEB or something.
Not counting the 500 gems I spent on a Spooky habitat, I probably spent somewhere between the 300-500 range on extra turns in the mini games. Never did get a second Chromacorn. I did manage to get all 30 decorations. The amount of duplicates this event was ridiculous. I had enough candy for three chests, I almost thought I wasn't going to get the two I needed.
If future events are like this, I'm not planning on stressing over it like I did this time. I do hope they tweak things though.
I tried to add the missing pages - of course they are without info for right now as I didn't have time to do much besides create the pages.
I was wondering one thing: should each of the 30 decorations (the tendrils, ornaments, and flames) have their own individual pages (Purple Flame of Corruption, Blue Flame of Corruption, etc) or just have one main page for each type (Flame of Corruption, Tendril of Wrath, Ornament of Porcelain)? I am personally leaning more towards 30 new pages since there isn't just one Tendril of Wrath broken into 10 different colors. It would also probably be easier to just add 30 pages instead of 3 pages with a bunch of coding for switches. I didn't want to add those pages until I had some more input.
I know you've been busy, I'm in no hurry for an answer. I've just noticed that some users are commenting on the fact that the Wiki is "outdated".
Yeah, since August it has been really tough for me to get to the editing. Things are settling down a little bit now in some areas, but it is still hard. I know the Game Updates page hasn't been updated since August and I don't know when things have come and gone. This was difficult before August too since I wouldn't even know if something came or went unless it was announced or stumbled upon in the Dragonarium.
Hi! Sorry to jump into your thread, but I read through the messages about the candy bash event and I ended up creating a 'hub page' thing for Tendril of Wrath, Ornament of Porcelain and Flame of Corruption like Bane had suggested. It made it easier to link to for when I wrote the Obtaining part for the Wrath, Porcelain and Corrupticorn pages.
I just thought I should check with you two if it's okay and correct. ♥
Also Bane, I've updated the Release Calendar but I wasn't sure how to deal with multiple dragons expiring and multiple dragons being re-released on the same day, multiple times throughout the month of June during The Great Dragon Faire 2018. So yeah... now there's 10 different footnotes on that month.
Thank you for the help with that. It is okay to have those footnotes. Usually with an event I would list the event up top in the calendar and then footnote a list of what was released/expired that day.
I think I managed to create pages for all the new content for this event. I was off on Monday so I had some time to do so. At least this time around you can choose your decorations rather than leaving it to random chance. I think my goal is to get the decorations and leave the dragons for last.
I managed to unlock one of the new treats last night but I don't remember which one it was.
Sarjin Pepper + Blushroom = Meta-carotene (just unlocked it on the event island) and Beanstalk + Dragon Fruit = Jive Chive. I think it was Jive Chive that I unlocked in my non-event Towering Treat Farms.
I managed to unlock the two new treats. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the dragons yet. I know the limited one wants a level 18 Berry Dragon with a trait to "evolve" and that may just be easier to buy while trying to "evolve" the others. At least they adjusted the ratios so collection is easier now.
I ended up buying it, a traited Berry was proving elusive for me. While I’m still trying to get a traited Berry, I didn’t want to miss at least Aubergine. I guess some habitats die hard. It’s really frustrating, especially since you have to clone the evolved dragons to get another rather than just needing one parent.
I happened to have a traited Berry so I was "lucky" so I used it to get Aubergine. I have it up in coop now to clone for pedestals/untraited.
I am now trying to breed more Seed Dragons since two "evolution" require it, and I need to try to get another Leaf Dragon. I'm not sure if there will be more surprise limited ones, but I accidentally got a regular Berry Dragon just in case it is needed instead of selling it.
I need to purchase the decorations, at least that way if I don’t get the dragons during the event I at least have a possibility of getting them after - so long as they don’t require the limited time treats.
I ended up purchasing only the decorations that are required to evolve the dragons. I’m trying to breed two more Seed dragons for those two dragons - no luck so far. I’ve been on vacation visiting my parents in Virginia this week, I fly home this afternoon.
I'm trying to breed two more Seed Dragons too. I have the elements set in the rift, but once this Leaf Dragon is done I can try on the island as well. The only event dragons I have are Aubergine and Blotato. I used coop to get a regular Aubgergine and pedestals for both.
I have Aubergine, Bloatato, and Curlyleaf so far. Just waiting for two Seed dragon. I’m trying in the Rift and on the island using Leaf and Seed (though I may swap Leaf out for something else since I don’t need another Leaf anymore.
So I now have Karoot Dragon and Curlyleaf Dragon...I am still trying to get a standard Seed Dragon without a trait to get the last one. I chose Karoot over it mostly because of the same market cost and the treats for Karoot costing less to grow.
Somehow though my Seed with trait and Cold Rift Dragon got me 3 more traited seeds today; if I have to I guess I can use one of those.
I have all the current event dragons. I'm just banking the Spice for now, there's no telling if they'll release another dragon this weekend (with it being the last weekend of the event). If not, I will probably just go ahead and purchase the remaining treat decorations (providing I have enough Spice for all of them - I haven't done the calculations since purchasing the ones needed to evolving the dragons). I'm trying to remember to watch the three ads each day for that additional Spice. Also the 1,500 Spice from the Silo yesterday was nice.
Edit: After some calculations, I don't think there will be enough Spice to get all the other treat decorations. Unless my calculations are off it will cost 23,850 for the remaining ones. I currently have a little over 13,000 (have not reached daily max today yet).
There won't be enough spice. I think to get all the decorations that weren't required for obtaining the event dragons would cost 30,450 spice...or more than double the "leftover" amount of just buying the necessary dragons and "evolution" costs. I got the five event dragons and managed to obtain pedestals through the Cooperative Breeding Cave so it really comes down to these decorations.
I went ahead and purchased that Towering Treat Farm. I'm sure the decorations will be back again at some point. I don't remember them being in the Dragonarium because at the start of the event my Decorations button was still gold (and still is). I still have 7400 spice left, I may just purchase the two pedestals I'm missing... I wonder what has the most DC pay off... I could definitely stand to build my DC back up. I think I started the event around 13-14 billion and now I'm down to around 9 billion.
Of course my game keeps crashing. I can login and play for a few minutes before it crashes. It could be my connection since I'm not on Wifi. But at least this happens after the event and not during.
The time in between events is roughly 6 7 days... I still wish they wouldn't do a full-blown event for Thanksgiving. 3 3-4 week long events back to back is too much. Guess I should start breeding extra Gift and Coal dragons (those were the only two mentioned in the App update description) for now... I'm still not sure I like this evolution thing.
I kind of wish they would re-release Gift and Coal already, that way players would have a good start to the event. It would be a nice addition to the early daily gifts. But I'm breeding Coal x Gift in both the Rift cave and Island. I would like at least one more set so I can start breeding in three locations.
I decided to move my Rift Gift and Coal to the regular park and breed Gift + Gift and Coal + Coal to see if the results would be better, so far, not so much. If I can get one more of each I can move the Rift versions back to the Rift and try breeding in there again. I decided to use one of my wishes (I had 2) on the Corrupticorn dragon (I used the other one on the 24th island). I really don't like this back to back to back events.
This week has been a rough one at best with things going on within my family. Tuesday was a rare day when I wanted to reset the day and make it so certain things didn't happen. It ended up with my supervisor sending me home soon after I got to work because of some news I had gotten on my way in to work. Trying to keep my mind off of it, but that doesn't always work...
Off to a slow start with the event, but it lasts until January 20th so there's that at least. And very little chance for duplicates. And no "hop on one foot while it's raining in your park and snowing where you live" rituals. I will be placing all these decorations on the Gargantuan Island for the time being.
I am finding it difficult to get iceberries this event. I don't have room right now for decorations unless I take the time to sell of my extra ones from Halloween event.
I'm also not too enthusiastic about spending a bunch of gems to get the decorations. It may make sense to do the Dragon Tap a lot on a double or triple day so more iceberries are gathered for the gem use. I haven't tested it out though. I only spent 15 gems so far on the first day.
I'm only spending about 20 gems a day on Magic Tap - seems to be the only one where I have some control over getting the chest. I usually play Dragon Drop on the free turns. I've almost completed some sets (just missing one or two) and other sets seem harder to get (maybe more "rare"). I think they changed some of the decorations from when they made the loading screen. At least I hope so otherwise that would mean even more decorations. I'm not keeping duplicates of the decorations, I didn't for the Halloween event either. I think for Magic Tap instead of the iceberries being doubled, the time is doubled. It was 20 seconds instead of 10 seconds. So far no new dragon released and we're still missing 4 of the event dragons - or at least they haven't been released in the prize market yet.
I really don't like the fact that we don't earn iceberries for collecting from habitats. I don't mind the 10,000 daily limit though.
I am not even getting 1,000 a day, and the Magic Tap (should be Iceberry Rush) is double time instead of double worth. The past two days I did egg guess and actually got two gold chests from that. The thing is that if it a gold chest possibility there is a ten second timer I think...maybe less that isn't there when it is only iceberries.
I think the chest timer on egg guess and dragon guess is 5 seconds - at least normally, not sure about double days. I might be getting 1,000 iceberries a day - maybe, but probably not. I have managed to get all the decorations for Libretto - the little song bird. Got the final music note this morning from a chest from dragon guess. Kind of surprised they haven't started BEB yet. Maybe they'll start it today unless they're not doing one at all and will just do collection comebacks throughout the year. I've been trying to work on pedestals that I'm missing. I've managed to get two of them so far. Still quite a few missing though.
Best Buy was having a pretty decent sale on iPads today so I bought/ordered one. My parents gave me some money for Christmas so I’m able to put that towards it (it was around $375 (with tax) for 128gb). Since I have the original Air, it was time for an upgrade. I will probably hold on to my current one, at least for right now. My biggest thing is that it doesn’t have a lot of memory (only a 16gb). I won’t get it until Friday but that’s okay. Not sure what the prices looked for Minis, but might be something to look into.
I purchased all the missing decorations from Om of Noms (thankfully they costs coin instead of gems). Still missing quite a few decorations from this event. Though I have two complete sets now (the music note and the poinsettia). The gumdrops and feathers are harder for me to get... and those are the two that are needed for the two current limited dragons. I’m guessing they’ll still be available after the dragons leave since they were available before they were released.
I haven't tried playing on my old iPad. It rarely crashed but it did lag a lot especially in the Rift.
I'm only missing three decorations now. The yellow feather, orange nutcracker, and white gumdrop. I'm not sure if I want to just purchase those three chests from the market or wait and see what the daily gift chests give and use the berries to evolve the dragons. I've only evolved two so far.
I am missing probably about one-third of the decorations. I ended up spending around 200 gems over the triple berry day to try to get more berries. It is starting to seem like I will have to spend more to get the rest of the decorations. I have yet to get a full set, but I have a few with 9 out of 10 and 8 out of 10.
I ended up purchasing the chests from the prize market after constantly getting duplicates from spending gems on the games. I tried to complete as many donation cards as I could during the triple days (I think I managed 2 and a half using the Rift).
I got most of mine through spending gems for the games, about 20 gems a day (not everyday though). Once I started getting more and more duplicates, I switched to purchasing the chests and selling all the duplicates. I'm still trying to figure out where to put all these decorations. I'm trying to figure out how to put the 30 Halloween ones on the Halloween themed islands. I have no room on my Christmas islands for these so they'll probably stay on the Gargantuan Island. I may end up doing an overhaul of my islands at some point. Most of them I am happy with but there are a few that could look better.
Right now that are where mine are kept. I should sell off my extra Halloween decorations since we only need one of each type. I should sell off my extra decorations from this event as well at some point so I can clear up room on my Gargantuan Island.
The hardest decorations for me were the Gum Drops, the Arc Lamps, the Nutcrackers, and the Feathers. I think the Presents are right there with them too. The Tuplets were the first grouping I managed to complete (and probably my most duplicated).
I think people are expecting more dragons to be released during this event, but I doubt it (unless they are like the Ghostly dragons and require an effigy evolve the base element dragon). As I was rearranging the decorations (again) I noticed something with the Stockings: I think they goofed and swapped the Black Stocking and the White Stocking. The band around the top is also the color of the rest of the stocking, but the band on the white stocking is black and the band on the black stocking is white. This might be the last time I rearrange these decorations for a while...
I now have all of the decorations. I managed to get the last three without spending any more berries (or gems) to get them.
I'm not the least bit surprised that they released another Ghostly, nor would I be surprised to see them release at least two more. I would have much preferred the Ghostly dragons over the twins, at least their appearance is different...
I feel like Twins were their answer to people wanting to gift dragons (not counting Winter Saga and the few other times we "gifted" specific dragons like Gift and Coal). The least they could have done was make the fraternal twins instead of identical twins.
Ghostly Ghost is a little redundant...
Now if they would only add a Co-Cave to the Rift... or at least allow Rift dragons as a possibility so long as there is already the Rift element. It would be nice to be able to get another Corrupticorn through breeding with a friend rather than all the steps I would actually have to do in order to get a pedestal (for "free" rather than spending gems or what have you).
During the event I made sure to get the Corrupticorn Pedestal for that reason. I chose it over the Chromacorn since I knew eventually I'd breed another Chromacorn and then use those two to keep breeding more Chromacorn. Now I have around five of them after BEB and one I evolved into a Corrupticorn after buying the one flame I was missing for 50 gems.
Not sure how to add the Ghostly dragons to the Eggs page. Not sure if it should be a grid plus a "limited" section? I'm thinking grid for the Ghostly Fire, Earth, Cold, Plant (and probably the rest eventually), but then there's the limiteds like Coal, Gift, Nosferatu, etc...
I was thinking doing one grid and a chart for limiteds on the same template for Ghostlies. I think it might be safe to assume at this point that they'll eventually release Ghostly versions for at least the first grid.
Since the release of Ghostly Plant, I have only managed to breed one of the new Ghostly dragons... and I've been breeding since the release. I feel like Ghostly dragons are harder to get than their non-ghostly counterparts (and that includes twins and rifts).
Now that you mention it, I'll be coming up on my 7th year of being a registered user in October... Hard to believe that this game has lasted as long as it as. Harder yet that I'm still playing it and can't really see myself quitting anytime soon -- unless they do something really, really "bad".
From the bad news I received back in December, it's turned positive now.
My mom was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in November. She had surgery the week before last (on the 11th). She had her post surgery doctor's appointment today and got the all clear and doesn't have to go through radiation at this point in time. She meets with an oncologist next week as is standard. She's doing well with recovery and things seem positive right now.
I pretty much just copied and pasted then changed what needed to be changed. The first grid is edited so that if they ever release the dragons it should be a simple edit to reveal the information. The second grid is there, just hidden.
A rare occurrence of a dragon release that is not tied to an event, is not an Epic, and doesn't have to be evolved from another dragon.
I managed to get a rifted Quintessence dragon in the Rift early on today, but still need a regular version. I was still trying to get two of my many missing pedestals, but took a break to try for Quintessence in the island. I'm still trying for Ghostly dragons, but they are extremely elusive...
I haven't gotten it yet...trying Harvest and Molten ...Molten Harvest. I just think that if they are going to call it the 500th dragon it should be the 500th dragon released and not the 502nd. The names lets us know that Trimera was supposed to be the 300th dragon but for reasons they had to release Fates first and did they still go and call Trimera the 300th...no...they gave the title to 300th dragon actually released. I'm not a fan of some of the ways the most current team is handling content.
I feel like the current team is grasping at straws to keep the game going. Some things work but others don't. I agree that if this was meant to be the 500th dragon, it should have been released as such. It feels as though they weren't paying attention and tried to back track a little and then there's the long-winded description that barely makes any sense...
Still have only gotten the one Quintessence dragon, but I've gotten a couple of the long fails (Rainbow, Platinum, Bronze... and one more clogging up the breeding island). Not sure I like the design, but I really have paid much attention to it, plus I don't have a regular version just an Air Traited version.
Now we have 4 more dragons they've pulled from DVW... I'm not sure if they're running out of ideas for new dragons, or if they just want to add them into both games. Festive seems an odd choice though as did Eve when they released those. I'm not sure why they felt the need to make them limited. There's nothing wrong with releasing permanent dragons, in fact, permanent dragons are more likely to keep players around especially after pushing so many events...
I know a Valentine's Day even is around the corner, I hope the surprise us and skip one though.
True. I just saw that also. I remember three of those from when I used to play DVW...Shiver was after my time. Tusk and Knarr were permanent in DVW so to have them limited I don't get, but then again Kaiju, Oracle, and Totem were all permanent in DVW and limited in DV.
Also with that Eve is permanent in DV but was limited in DVW. I don't remember if Shiver was permanent or limited though... I think I quit playing shortly after its release. One of the things I liked about DVW that I wish they had implemented in DV was that in DVW the Enchanted versions were recolored... I with they had done that with the twins in DV rather than them being identical.
I'm mainly going for Rift and Twin eggs and then if a second one rolls around I'll hatch it. I'm trying to fill up my rift but by the time I save up a good bit of etherium I need it for breeding. I managed to get a Festive (regular) and a Shiver (rifted) from breeding in the Rift, but nothing from the regular breeding areas. I'm also trying for a regular of the Quintessence, but no luck on that front. I'm waiting for them to announce a Valentine's Day event soon... The expansion event is kind of nice (not that I really need any islands with 2 still empty). I did purchase the Overgrown Island, but I'm not sure what to put on it yet.
I have a Festive (rift and regular) and a rift Tusk.
I saw the islands....I am missing two which are during the mini-event are 9 billion each. I only have 25 billion so I can get the new one for 15 billion on sale and one of the missing 9 billion I have. I wasn't sure if it was worth paying for the Overgrown Island or not so I haven't bought it yet.
Overgrown is a smaller Gargantuan island with the plant theme. I am now only missing Knarr. I don't hold much hope of getting it before it expires but I'll still try. I'm also trying for regular versions I only have the traited version for., along with a Quintessence pedestal. I'm not too worried about not getting Knarr since mystery egg gifts role around every so often and chances are that I could get one from that at some point (though I kind of wish they could code it so it can give you a regular version if you only have a traited or a twin version - I think right now it will give you a twin or traited twin if you already have either a regular or a traited version).
Not really looking forward to the Valentine's Day event. I hope we don't have to evolve dragons this time around...
I'm not looking forward to the event either. Maybe this time I'll spend the gems...although it is months of gem collecting. I can't watch the videos for gems without the game crashing or the video freezing. I waited too long to buy the two islands I have the money for so I won't be able to get the clearing for those. For some reason I thought we had more time; must have lost track of the days.
I will probably wish for the other two islands eventually. I find I don't really need the space right now unless I decide to overhaul my park on a grand scale... but I like the layout of my islands at this point in time. I use Ts'aishen one days where I either don't have a lot of time to collect or just don't feel like spending the time to do so. Most of the time I try and save it to use alongside Kairos.
So far I don't mind the event. Not only do we not have to collect decorations to evolve, we can also breed for the new dragons rather than just having to buy them. I'm also not minding the black and white right now. It's kind of a nice change from the bright colors. At least the collection bubbles are colored and the buttons. And it's a relatively long event.
I finally managed to breed a second Chromacorn, but I kept the pedestal instead of hatching it. I'm hoping to get at least one more at some point so I can evolve it into a Corrupticorn and then breed two of those for the pedestal. I'm breeding Chromacorn and Corrupticorn together even though I know I won't get another Corrupticorn that way (unfortunately). Also now can't breed for the new event dragons (I really wish they would let us if only on weekends or double days or something like that).
I don't have any of the new ones yet. Breeding the limiteds is usually a thing during events, however I - again - don't like the fact that they released more limited Golden hybrids (and during an event no less - again). I'm trying for Daffadowndilly (the name? they couldn't just Daffodill or some other flower?) with a friend's in the Co-Op (using Knarr as I'm trying for a pedestal for that one) and have it locked for 1 day and 5 hours - give or take.
The doctors seem positive but she has to have another surgery next week and then go through chemo after recovering from that surgery. It’s going to be a long road yet but hopefully after all this she’ll be okay again.
I haven't had luck with the dragons either. I think the first round I got one of the hybrids, but since the update last week I can barely get into the game this event. When I do get in I try to rush to Ts'aishen which sometimes is instant crash and other times collects. I haven't reached the max really since that update and haven't been able to switch breeding pairs. I tried going in the market to buy the last round of dragons and the game kept crashing and wouldn't load. Somehow I was able to get in long enough to buy the new building (not knowing what it was) but I didn't get half the daily max last night. I'll have to try to Coop Cave to get them or see if any are egg gifts. After this even I want to try to clear out more of my social menu, assuming the crashing will be less with less background data and less graphics during collecting.
I know there's a way to turn off the "flying" graphics from collecting which might help if you haven't already changed it. I will probably use Co-Op and hope for gift eggs to be my missing dragons. I really don't want to use my wishes on them - would rather save those for islands. I purchased the new building but haven't played around with it too much - maybe next week while I'm on vacation. I also purchased the two dragons that have been around the whole event but I've only managed to breed one of the Golden hybrids.
So the theory of being able to clear out my social menu after the event isn't working. Apparently so many eggs were gifted that my game keeps crashing anyways. I'd think about buying a new device but I don't even know if that would solve the issue.
Thanks, I think what I need to do and unable to do is clear out my social menu. I have a bunch of rift galaxy dragons and other rift dragons I want to put into hibernation or put as pedestals if I already have one in hibernation. Then there are others I should probably clear of if I already hatched a twin and pedestal of. I just can't get into the game to do that. I'm not sure if it is because of too many gifts in the social menu, but it is a theory with all those eggs from last event taking more slots up and now unable to get in at all really.
Maybe you can find a friend who has a newer Apple device that won't mind you borrowing it for a little bit so you can try it out long enough to clear the social? That would also let you know if a new device is the way to go eventually (which I think it would help with the game).
