Game Description
As the thorn protects the rose, so does the thorn dragon protect its companions. Fiercely loyal, this dragon will never leave the side of those it considers to be friends. Those friends, however, have learned to be cautious when receiving embraces.


Obtaining

The Thorn Dragon is the third and fifth rewards collected by accumulating a total of Rose template 1,375 and Rose template 1,925, respectively, totaling to Rose template 3,300 during the Gathering of Roses.

When a certain amount of roses were collected and turned in at the Rosefall Tree, a message card would pop up to inform players that the Thorn Dragon could be collected from the "Gifts" section in the Social Menu. When a player collected the Thorn Dragon from the section, the egg was placed directly into the nursery. Players then had an option to hatch, display, or sell the Thorn Dragon.

During The Great Dragon Faire players were able to purchase the Thorn Dragon for Ticket 3,715.

The Thorn Dragon can be obtained by collecting a total of Rose template 2,495 during Gardenia's Gathering of Roses 2018.

Breeding

The Thorn Dragon can be bred by using any two dragons, in either order, containing the Metal and Plant elements at the Breeding Cave/Epic Breeding Island.

  • On February 4, 2015, the Thorn Dragon's spot appeared in the Dragonarium, even though it had not been officially released into DragonVale yet.
  • In addition to its affiliated decoration, the Thorn Dragon was released along with the Berrywhite Bench, Thorn Pedestal, Unhatched Thorn Dragon, Path of Petals, Omnitat, the Rosefall Tree, and the Rosefall Island.
  • On February 13, 2015 the required individual cost for the second Thorn Dragon changed from 1,660 to 1,925 roses.
