Summerthings Magical (2023) | Summerthings Magical II (2024) |
Summerthings Magical II was a limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect magic and trade them at Mrs. Murphy's School of Spellwork and Sorcery to receive rewards.
At the start of the Summerthings Magical II, Deca Games posted an FAQ guide on their web site.
Magic needed to be collected and traded at Mrs. Murphy's School of Spellwork and Sorcery. Each reward required a certain amount of magic to be traded in to be earned.
What is the Summerthings Magical II Event?[]
Summerthings Magical II's objective was to collect magic.
The Help Menu in Summerthings Magical II provided info on some key aspect of the event.
Tutorial[]
Summerthings Magical II starts with a tutorial explaining how the event will work.
The process of this tutorial can be viewed in the gallery to the right.
The tutorial takes a few minutes to complete from beginning to end, but players received 100 as a goal completion reward after completing the tutorial.
Earning Magic[]
- Breeding dragons & hatching eggs
- Purchasing dragons with Gems
- Collecting from habitats (500 magic limit per day)
- Viewing visions from Tolzar
- Competing in the Colosseum & Fight or Flight
- Playing games at School of Arcade
- Collecting daily rewards at the Arcane Crystal
- Finding students holding elemental flags in your park
- Playing Eggy Hatchy
Prize Completion[]
When enough magic is collected, they were able to be used at Mrs. Murphy's School of Spellwork and Sorcery for unique prizes in any order.
Special Visitors[]
When there is a golden border around the Visitors icon, there are special visitors/prizes in the park.
If clicked on, the students holding elemental flags will grant 25 on standard days / 50 on double days. Once a student holding an elemental flag has been found and tapped on, it will not appear again until the next day, meaning you can find and tap only 10 students holding elemental flags per day.
The students holding elemental flags have the same appearance as the Banner Bearing Visitors.
Mysterious Flying Dragon[]
Summerthings Magical II brought a new feature to the event island which involved a mysterious flying dragon which would swoop around the event island. During the event, players can use their magic to cast a spell to get the dragon down.
There is one stage to complete this task. The task costs 12,000 to cast the spell. After using the magic, a three day countdown will appear over the mysterious dragon.
In total, it takes 12,000 to cast all of the magic and get the mysterious dragon down.
After the timer completes, the player will have a Treebark Dragon sent to the "Gifts" section of their Social Menu.
The mysterious dragon is called the Treebark Dragon.
- In the Dragonarium the obtaining information read: "This can only be acquired by collecting Magic and trading it in at Mrs. Murphy's School of Spellwork and Sorcery."
ROI[]
Return on Investment - how much DC you get per event currency by purchasing and selling an item.
At the end of this event, all remaining event currency will be converted into Dragon Cash at a rate of 1,000 per currency. However, as some decorations and dragon pedestals can be purchased with only a handful event currency and have a high sell price, the player is able to manually create a higher value per event currency by buying and selling certain items. The table below has been created for players looking to get the most out of their excess event currency by listing the ROI values for each item featured in the event.
For Summerthings Magical II, the recommended order for items to buy for Dragon Cash include:
- Solarflare Pedestal - 25,000 per spent
- Century Pedestal - 8,823 per spent
- There are no cheaper items with an ROI greater than the default 1,000 per .
Note: The dragon names listed in the ROI table represent the dragon's pedestal and NOT the dragon itself. This is because the dragon's egg pedestal is 1/10 the price, but still sells for the same price.

DECA Games FAQ[]
At the start of the Summerthings Magical II, Deca Games posted an event guide on their website.
Gallery[]
Event Market Advertisement Watching Option[]
- Players were offered the option to watch an advertisement while in the event market for extra event currency this event.
- This had a limit of two times.
- If less than 50 event currency away from the item it offered 50 event currency.
- If more than 50 event currency away but less than 100 event currency away it offered the remaining amount of event currency needed to get the item.
- If at 0 event currency the above rules still applied so it was possible to get an item that cost 100 event currency or less by watching an advertisement the second time.
It was noticed during Deepest Depths that this feature did not work during the last two days of being able to spend event currency once event currency collection ended and the event island went away.
