Game Description
This dragon defies description. The ancient manuscript "The Done Witch" tells of several renowned scribes nearly going mad trying to find just the right words to describe this rare and ancient creature. Their vague and contradictory descriptions seemed unbelievable, until one of these dragons dragged itself from the marshes at the mouth of the Aichpey river to lay dreaming in the road before the Mouth Inn. Now we know why they had such a hard time.

Breeding

The Ooze Dragon can be bred by selecting a Dark Dragon or dark hybrid dragon to mate with an Water Dragon or water hybrid dragon, in either order, at the Breeding Cave/Epic Breeding Island.

Notes

  • Ooze Dragon was released on January 15, 2014 along with Howl Dragon, Abyss Dragon, and Miasma Dragon.
    • Ooze Dragon was released on the same day as the 2014 wolf moon.
  • Although the Ooze Dragon's description says that it "defies description", it ironically has one of the longest description texts of any dragon in the game.

Possible References

  • Multiple references to the horror author H. P. Lovecraft and Lovecraftian mythology:
    • The "Aichpey river" is probably a corruption of the phonetic spelling of H. P..
    • The "Mouth Inn" is probably a reference to the novella "The Shadow over Innsmouth".
    • "The Done Witch" is probably a reference to the short story "The Dunwich Horror".
    • Ancient beings and going mad at the sight of such beings is a common theme in Lovecraft's stories.
    • The Ooze Dragon's design seems to be at least partially based on Cthulu, a cosmic entity from the short story "The Call of Cthulu" which is especially well known in popular culture for its monstrous octopus-like head. One quote from the Call of Cthulhu mentions that 'dead Cthulhu lies dreaming' which is also mentioned in the description.
