Game Description
The great wizard Garriott often uses rare plants as reagents in his complex spells. While gathering a batch of the nightshade plant at midnight on a full moon, he happened upon a new type of dark dragon. He promptly named them nightshade dragons due to the resemblance of their wings to the plant of the same name.

Breeding

The Nightshade Dragon can be bred by using any two dragons, in either order, containing the Dark and Plant elements at any Breeding Cave.

Possible References

  • "The great wizard Garriott" is likely a reference to Richard Garriott, a video game developer and magician.
    • Garriott using nightshade in his spell is likely a reference to the fact that nightshade is used in herbal medicine.
  • While the adult Nightshade Dragon seems to be based on the flower of the Deadly Nightshade plant (or Belladonna), the baby's bright red head appears to draw its basis from the red fruits of some of the Nightshade family, of which the tomato and chili peppers are members.
  • The quest name for the Nightshade Dragon is called "Belladonna's Bastion" which may be a reference to nightshade's scientific name being belladonna.
