I am in a myriad of places, though not in those places all at one time. Feel free to leave a message on any wiki I edit on, but be aware that I tend to be absent sometimes, and I may not respond right away.
I'm not sure how this works, but I noticed that there is an app in the Apple App Store that is just this Wiki being sold for $1.99. I don't know about copyright infringement or Plagarism in instances like this but this wiki shows a lot of hard work and having someone just take it and attempt to make money from it seems wrong.
It is "Guides For Dragonvale" by Le Thao.
If the app have links back to the orginal article and the wiki, it is okay, as it is written this article by Wikia:
Are anyone able to check if the app is giving credit to the DragonVale Wiki or not? I'll contact Wikia and see what they say.
I just want to know since last time you said you didn't mind to be left in limited activity, I left you there. The page has now been updated and labled you as "Announced limited activity." Just wanted to give you a heads up on this. You can be left in that section for up to a year; if at any time you wish to return during this year, you can just let someone know and you can be moved back. See you around!
Hello! Active admins are asked to come to consensus on the B'crat nominee: Dragon trip. Please either come to chat so we can discuss in PM or, if you are in support, just say so as soon as possible, here, by August 14th, 2013. please do NOT discuss negative inputs publicly. Thank you!
I do know some people here hold a certain animosity towards Gameteep and wbangca, but personally I've never had an issue with them, and I even hung around on gameteep for a bit talking to people there once. While admittedly wbangca has his moments that make me cringe a little, he's been nothing but nice to me /shrug
This absolutely was NOT removed due to its content. I removed a link that did not go to a video. I explained that since it did not go to the video referenced, I removed it. I have no problems with his videos being posted.
I ALSO mentioned, since I could not trace the link, that I had removed OTHER videos due to inappropriate language-they were not uploaded by Wbangca. I have no animosity toward him; I don't even know him.
I also, as a user, find his constant use of Wiki content and negative remarks about the community to be somewhat offensive. However, that would not be a reason to use Admin tools to remove the content.
S'cool Trip, I just wanted to know what was going on since I saw some comments flying around. If wbangca is talking down about things here (I assume that's what you mean) I can probably ask him to stop or at least keep that on gameteep or something.
Well, he's posting about me (which I don't much care) but also telling users that the admins here banned him (unless he has multiple accounts, I see no evidence of that) and seems to be trying to persuade users not to use the wiki.
I sent him a message, if he has a problem with it perhaps we can talk it out or something. I just don't want any animosity between groups of users, come on it's a dumb ios game about dragons, can't we just get along /dies
Yeah, this series of videos are strange. First one started out saying he's getting a lot of emails "probably from wika amins" and showing only our Jade dragon page. I never sensed a problem between him and the wiki before, but this series and his comments have been fairly negative.
Hey, Tatz, staff procedure still shows you as "Limited" and no activity since February. While I know you can't get on every day, do you still want to show as "Limited" or move back to the active section?
Uhh well I don't want it showing I have no activity since Feb when that's clearly not true rofl. Otherwise I don't really care, do what you think is best. I try to pop by when I remember, which has been a wee more frequently lately since I've been trying to keep tabs on something else. But honestly it's really easy for a week, two weeks to go by without me logging on because I just don't realize it's been that long. By the time I get home, half the time I just want to relax, and the wiki is the farthest thing from my mind orz
I think we (community and admins alike) have gotten a bit nuts with the feeling that being an admin means you are available 24/7, or even every day. I find myself apologizing in advance when I know I'm going to be away for more than a couple of days. I would like to get away from that concept, and one way we can do it is not show an admin as inactive or limited just because they may only be here once a week or so.
Under current policy, I don't think you are either limited or inactive. You were made "L/A" at the time you let us know you had to be away for quite a while, and that seems to have changd.
Based on your input, I'm going to move you back to Active. You would move back to "limited" if you made no edits for a month or asked to be placed there.
Thanks, Tatz. I'm glad to see you around, even if not often.
I am going to leave this message on the following Admin walls (if you think there is another I should add, let me know, but these are the admins I have currently seen active): Silver Marsh, Tatz, Justin, Pickle, Liber, Bane, Moonrise.
I have been in contact with Trella about reinstating B'crat rights on the wiki. She agreed that we appear ready to start this conversation. I sent her a draft I have done (lots of research on other sites and awareness of various forums over the past several months). Trella approved the draft and gave me permission to start engaging the community in conversation.
Don't worry about reading the document; I would like input on the document itself to be on the forum. I just want to know if you are okay with me creating that forum.
I know that admins have a lot on their plates, here and in real life, so I want to hear from people but not wait forever. Unless I hear from one of you that you do NOT support creating the forum, I will open it next Monday.
Please let me know if you have any concerns. Thanks!
I'm fine with it. Maybe it should be noted though (unless it's somewhere else and I'm not seeing it) that bcrats can only be demoted by themselves or Wikia staff (in the case of inappropriate behaviour that is deemed needing intervention) and their tools are generally the same as admins, save for the ability to make new admins.
Just throwing that out in case I don't make it to the forum for whatever reason. Happened to be doing editing on another wiki and caught this message early on lol. I already checked the rest of the page, it looks fine.
Do you mean that one B'crat can't demote another? That's a good call. I won't modify the draft right now, since Trella signed off on it as is, but will remember to loop back here for possible updates after gathering other inputs.
I think the first part is covered here: A bureaucrat is an administrator with the extra ability to add and remove rights from others.
I think you are saying (maybe) that this part is invalid, if a B'crat can't remove another B'crats rights: A Bureaucrat will not remove the rights of another Bureaucrat without a public community discussion in which the situation is explained and the community agrees in general
Yes that is what I meant. A bcrat can demote admins but they cannot demote other bcrats, that is not within their power to do so. The only way a person can lose their bcrat is either by removing those rights from themselves or having them revoked by someone on Wikia staff. I'm not sure whether it's relevant or not since it'll all go through vote anyway.
