Yup, because of these magic events (and events in other games as well, like flutter) I did feel like I must do them otherwise I will miss out stuff. This pretty much make me think of those games as work instead of something fun (well work could be fun, but I guess you know what I mean :P ). Also it was impossible for me to keep up with BF releasing all those dragons, and not because I had no time (I was breeding dragons continously), which made it less fun outsides events as well.
I remember some time back you had concerns with the vouching system on DragonVale wiki where you created a forum regarding vetting and vouching. After discussing with you, we decided to split them and wait until the vetting part is solved. We have finished the vetting part and made the changes. Are you still interested in opening a forum thread for vouching changes? You might be busy in real life so just thought of informing/reminding you since I was part of the discussion whom suggested to split it. Thought you might have forgotten about it so just wanted to hear from you. Have a nice day!
Hi Essiw, its Rain :) I know you're busy with uni and all but I just stopped by to say "Hi and I miss you kitty!!<3" :) Oh, and I'll be wandering around wiki if you're ever not busy and online. Okay bye (:
The table on the seasonal dragon looks great :D The table on the habitats pages could be made more "beautifull" but it is indeed better than the notes. Thanks a lot :)
Ah true, I just assumed that they all started at the same time.
With real time, do you mean in chat? me editing a lot? or something else? I am sometimes in chat, but often not so long. I miss the days of editing a lot too, but it became to obsessive and university is eating most of my time.
Bane changed the colors back; I'm sure he discussed with you why he did it. I would love it if there a way that this table could match the infobox colors from the other page! I'm not sure I agree that the two tables on the page match (I haven't seen the discussion if you and Bane had one so you might have talked about it elsewhere) since we have other "mismatched tables" that are just not as close together, but I do like the table better than the endless list of notes!
Well actually, he didn't discuss it with me. If I were a new user I would feel strange about him ignoring my comment in the history log. Though I know how to change it, it takes a bit of time to search for the code in the CSS files of the wiki to find the colour, which sadly I don't have.
I hope to see you in chat too :) I am often short times in chat, mostly on early american times (midday/evening times for the netherlands)
I changed it back since I didn't see Essiw, and if we are going to be accusing people of changing the colors he never asked me to change it to the colors either. I don't see the problem. The page looks a lot better when the colors and table styles match, so I changed it back to how it was for consistency.
Hey Bane, I am not accusing you of changing the colours, but if you read the note I made while editing, you might see that I changed it so the table isn't as huge. It is possible to make it "not as huge" and the right colours, but I didn't have time for it, so when I edited I thought it would be better to stick with the different colour but better look. Though it seems you thought the opposite ;)
Thanks, I think it was decided though that it looked better after like saying "1,500 gems". I didn't revert it, but I undid so we can easily just go to what you did and publish it over if it is decided to put them on the left side instead of the right side.
I don't mind going through the other pages and moving them to the right side. It wouldn't take long to do probably.
Though we once decided that they should be on the left side (at the deco's) . I personally liked right more because of what you say. But in currencies we use the signs before the amount too (like €1500). I don't know how the vote went, I guess it was at least a year ago.
Hi, that isn't exactly what I meant, but thank you for trying to find it.
I noticed some pages have the coin or gem template after like the dragon pages, and some have them in front. I think if we keep them in the same order it would be less confusing for community members both looking at different pages and editing pages.
Yeah, I would say that based on the forum Moon linked (albeit with low involvement) we should retain what was landed on there unless we bring it up again. I think it was "coin and gem in front, xp in back". It always made sense to me to match what is in game as much as possible.
Well, yeah, as of now it's the only discussion that recorded any decisions. I'm not indicating it shouldn't be revisited again, but until there is a new discussion, the old one should apply. I don't know why more users didn't engage in the discussion back then!
I don't think it had anything to do with summer (that forum was near the end of August), but honestly it was rare for a forum from that time period to get many responses. The forums didn't start to become active again until we started working on policies.
Feel free to copy anything from that forum - most of what is there is probably going to appear in anything drafted about it.
Do you mean the background? I didn't designed it, I only changed it a bit when the width of the center coloumn was extended by wikia. I am not sure who the designer was, it was submitted in a background contest, the contest was held by User:~=(iNate)=~ So you may want to contact him to ask who the designer was. Sorry that I cannot help you further.
Can you help me understand the confusion? I don't want to change the document during the vote, of course, but this is what it says:
In any situation where it is determined that behaviors warrant immediate removal of rights, the user must be notified via Message Wall, and the removal must immediately go to the community in the form of a Forum discussion that will remain open for at least one week, and no more than two weeks. This discussion will be followed by a community vote that will last for one week.
So, there is ALWAYS a vote if the rights are removed without a community demotion process. (There is also a vote in a demotion process, of courese).
No sorry I meant that differently, I meant to say that when such vote is needed it might be confusing for the user. Because in the text it is talking about "removal this" "removal that" including that the discussion will be about the removal, than suddenly it says that the vote after that will not be about the removal, but about a reversal of the removal of rights.
OK. So, basically, if this ever happens, we just need to be very clear that the discussion forum states "X user rights were removed by decision of y admins for z reason. Under policy, the community is asked to engage in a discussion of this decision. Users will be given the opportunity to vote to reinstate these rights after this discussion is ended".
Something like that? So it's not the policy so much, as the way we explain in the discussion forum what is happening?
I really, really hope we never have to implement this policy!
