I saw the latest post. It's none of my biz, but just wanted to say that I don't think any "appeal" is going to get too far, regardless of what I'm sure are good reasons. In any event, I just wanted to say, I know you have waited long for justice. If you would be so kind as to remind me in 3 months time, should your appeal not work, I would be happy to nominate you. No one can say I am a sock puppet.
You are right. I will do what I can for now in the name of justice. Another three months is nothing especially after being unfairly treated for the last four months. Thanks for your ongoing support and faith in me. I will do my best to earn it.
What would need to happen for you to be nominated again? I recently made an account, but i have been reading your and other's posts for long enough to see you are one of the best candidates on the wiki.
For more information on how to nominate a user for the Chat Moderator position, please visit this thread if you haven't already done so: http://dragonvale.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:819119. If the candidate meets all the qualifications, feel free to nominate them at your discretion.
I would like to state for the record that I am not Moobattle and I am honored by Moobattle's kind words for me.
A small number of people in this community have been known to hurt those who work in places that share a network and falsely accuse them of being the same people just because they have similar opinions. Thankfully, many of those narrow-minded and corrupt people have moved on. This is a much warmer (if less populated) place now.
Thank you Moobattle. This community is like a second home to me and I will always fight to keep it alive and successful no matter now I am treated by a select few.
I provided a user vouch for you Blue. Maybe this time we can get this done. If you ever wish to be nominated for something, you can always call on me...that way no one can accuse you of sock puppeting. Just leave me a message either here or at DCW. I am happy to nominate you for any appropriate position.
Oh no you have been blocked! :( you were like the last person on this corupt place I could relate to. I so sorry the "chilly weather" has got you. :( I hope you do return in 4 months we must catch up :( ... this really sucks :(
Thanks for your message. Fortunately, some of the people involved have been removed from power. Hopefully this community will be able to come back from that dark period. Time will tell if it can. See you around!
Hi Bane, I hope to see you around here soon. Same with you, Eddie. Perhaps we can work together to rebuild this community and help it recover from the events months before that hurt so many of our beloved friends here. Despite the mistreatment I endured I am still here and will do whatever possible to save this community.
Blue, so happy to see you're still here! I felt so bad that things turned out the way they did. I really did not want to be around here after that, not to mention having serious problems at my other wiki. But DVW is my first love, so I have to come back regardless of what has occurred. Anything I can do to support you, just let me know.
It has been about a day since this last message, and I understand you may be busy, so we are allowing another 48 hours for you to respond for discussion before consequences are enforced based on the information Wikia gave to me regarding the issue with the vote.
Thank you for understanding.
Just so we are clear the time is now 22:37:53 (UTC) on December 9, 2013.
As it has been over 48 hours since Bane's post with no reply, you have been blocked for 4 months based on the information we have been given by Wikia in regards to the vote. The accounts associated have also been blocked.
I apologize if I personally offended you by bringing up a concern I had with the community vote on the voting page. I was not personally attacking you, or any other member of the community, and I wasn't "campaigning" either. I like to not only follow the rules and regulations of the wiki, but I, as a user, have the right to bring up concerns of potential threats to the breaching of these rules.
While I do sincerely feel sorry for your getting upset at my post, there were some untrue statements you made about my post that I would like to clear up with you.
First, you claimed that my post was "highly inappropriate". While I realize now that I shouldn't have posted my specific concerns with the vote on the community vote page, it was not inappropriate for me to bring up my concerns with this vote to the community.
Second, you said "if those people voted yes nothing would have been said." This is also untrue. I checked the account history of all the people who voted on that thread, and it struck me as odd that there were 5 people who had voted that had accounts created in the past 2-9 days. While I realize that it is possible these people are all new users who wanted to add their input to the community vote, it is more probable that this is a situation of sock-puppeting. I was not saying that because those people voted against how I did, I was saying it because I thought it could be a serious issue.
There are more points in your post addressing mine that I could respond to, but I would rather spend my time doing something more productive than bickering. So, I apologize once again for personally offending you, but I wanted to make it clear that I was not singling out you or anyone else, nor was I campaigning for my side of the vote, as you so eloquently put it. Thanks for your time and have a good evening.
Thanks for the apology. I said your post was highly inappropriate and I meant that for the thread in which it was posted. I stand by that.
Also, if you are going to question the votes, then tell me who, among others, Jcsme is. This mysterious person, who I am never talked to, voted against me in my chat moderator vote and also took part in the vote here. Who is this person? I'd like to know.
Actually, I don't really care. I believe it's a real person who has a right to his or her opinion just like EVERYONE else who voted.
This is to inform you that you have been blocked from the Wiki for one day for making personal attacks against Frost786™ on more than one occasion. You have also taken part in this behaviour on the VOTE: Proposed Changes/Adjustments to the Admin Vetting Process thread against Argyos Maestre. Wiki polcies state that: "Personal attacks are arguments that focus on attacking another user personally, rather than addressing [one's] arguments regarding the subject matter. Users who participate in personal attacks are immediately subject to administrative action, including banning. Warnings may be given, but are not guaranteed." Frost warned you regarding this behaviour and I feel like your response was another direct personal attack. Seeing as your response addressed Frost on a personal level instead of addressing his arguments in a professional manner, I consider this to be a follow-up to his warning. Feel free to use this period to reflect on your actions and to review the DragonVale Wiki Rules and Policies. If you have any questions and/or concerns regarding the wiki block, feel free to contact me.
I was out at meetings all day so I did not see this until this morning.
I fail to see where I made a personal attack on your colleague. I expressed my opinion that his words were laughable and that he has no integrity in my eyes. I did not state this as a fact. If his words truly make me laugh out loud in real life and if I don't trust anything he says, that is punishable? So instead I should lie and say the opposite?
I think if I had said what I said as if it was fact, you have a stronger case. But let's move on. I have already accepted the fact that I will not get a fair shot among certain people in this community.
However, since we are on the subject of facts and opinions, your colleague has publicly accused me of things WITHOUT proof and stated those things as fact and not his opinion. When someone accuses another of harassing others, that sounds like...a personal attack! So as a leader here, Andy, either consistently enforce the rules and give your friend a ban, ask him to retract his opinionated/non-factual statements, or just acknowledge people are not treated equally in this community.
I just wanted to make it clear that I cannot speak on behalf of Frost. My block was an individual decision based on the two most recent remarks you made about Argyos and Frost. Personally, I feel like you addressed Frost as an individual instead of addressing the warning presented. Everyone is entitled to their opinions so it would have been nice if you just explained why you disagreed with the warning without making it personal. As for your statement about "consistently enforc[ing] the rules and giv[ing] [my] friend a ban", it is not my domain. I am only a Wiki Moderator, not an Admin. I cannot "just acknowledge people are not treated equally in this community" because I find it completely untrue. I understand that you brought up this issue with an admin on our wiki and I feel like he handled the situation to the best of his ability. I'll be in the chat later today so feel free to personal message me if you need further clarification. Thanks.
I am going to move on from this issue because I have long given up on the fact I will be treatly fairly in this community. Perhaps one day you will understand that once an individual accuses you of something without proof, it is extremely difficult to take that individual seriously ever again.
I'm sorry you feel that way Blue. I hope one day you two can make peace with each other and settle things out. If you truly feel like Frost took it to a personal level, I advise you to be the bigger person and to keep it completely professional. Thanks for the input.
Thank you for taking the time to discuss this matter in the chat room.
While I cannot make peace with a person I believe has no intention of working with me in a professional manner (due to continual baseless allegations), I will keep my own interactions with this individual professional by minimizing my responses to him to as little as possible.
I want to let you know that I had to remove your post from the voting and give you a warning. Not only was that off topic and not appropriate for that thread, it was a direct attack, which falls under the wiki policies under general behavior.
Whether or not the post you were replying to was justified or not, your post was a direct attack and potentially breaks policies. This was especially after another staff member had noted that the discussion should not belong on that thread, but you posted anyway.
Just to be clear on this: this wasn't an attempt to censor or unfairness. As you can see on the vote, I removed all posts that were not votes on the thread regardless of what "thinking" they had on the vote, and I also left a warning message for the other party who also posted.
This isn't an issue about speaking thoughts, just policy of having unrelated discussion in a vote. It is of my courtesy to also let the users know that their posts were removed and why they do not belong.
My reference to your unfairness is the disparity in messages you left for Argyos and me. You claim that you left a warning to both parties but you only used the word "warning" with me and not the person who started this whole controversy. Your message to Argyos was friendly reminder whereas mine barely masks your true feelings about me, in my opinion.
Hey, I don't blame you. I imagine it is difficult for you to contain yourself with me. But don't say your messages to me and him are the same. Either add the word "warning" to your post to him or take it off of mine. Let's just be honest with each other. The messages were NOT the same.
Also, while my response to Argyos's inappropriate post in the voting thread was deleted within minutes, Argyos's post was left for the community to see for nearly AN HOUR AND A HALF before any staff member decided to take it down. That is why I felt compelled to respond. I do not defend my response as a legal move. But in my eyes, I felt it would compel staff to quicker action regarding both posts. It turns out I was right - since post boths were immediately removed, it was worth it for me to post.
Thanks Bane. Like I said, I do not defend my post and I deserve the warning that I received. My issue is with the disparity in messages given to Argyos and me. They are not the same and for this admin to state that both sides received a warning is a lie.
I understand this community is not monitored every single minute. Whatever the circumstances, I am glad my response to the inappropriate post led to both being taken down immediately. Receiving the warning was worth it to preserve justice.
The messages are different because they had different reasons. The other party's post was only suggesting, and while it was inappropriate for the thread and did not belong there it had not broken major policies otherwise.
However, on your post, there were more than reasons then just not belonging there. First, it was about half an hour after your post before I got online and removed all non-vote posts, not immediately. No extra posts would have been necessary nor would they quicken me to come online at the time to remove the non-voting posts. Adding an agressive comment is not acceptable even if another post isn't appropriate, especially after another staff member suggested that the discussion was not appropriate for that thread, but you still went and posted about it. Combined with the attacks in your post, I felt it was necessary to give you a warning for it.
Next time, please contact a staff member directly on his or her wall to remove the post rather than leaving another post on the vote that doesn't belong. Doing this will sometimes only exacerbate the situation and it is best to find a staff member directly.
