Hey, I was wondering if you knew the easiest way to get your first gem-producing dragon. Also I was wondering how you add friends, when I click the invite friends button, it pops up with something saying:
Social features are currently inaccessible.
Please check back at a later time.
And it has been like this for the past few months according to my sister who started first and I then made a new park for me.
Gem dragons can only be bred during certain months with their specific combos. Check out Gemstone Dragons and Crystalline Dragons as well as their respective pages for more breeding info.
As far as friends are concerned, your account may not be old enough to access social media. By law, companies cannot collect information from users under 13 years of age (which is why you must be at least 13 to create a Wikia account). Since you login via Facebook, the game asks for your age when you create a park. If under 13, by law the social media features are disabled. If you have more questions about this or if the age on your account is old enough, feel free to reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org for help getting this resolved.
I haven’t been on this wiki in quite some time! I just redownloaded DragonVale after about three years, and remembered I’m still friends with you on Gamecenter, so I was able to visit your park. Of course, it crashed my phone. Glad to see you still play though! It was definitely a wave of nostalgia.
Hey! My name is Atvelonis, and I'm the Fandom Wiki Manager for the DragonVale Wiki as well as an admin on Elder Scrolls. I'm here to act as a liaison between you and Fandom Staff as well as to help you and your community with whatever you need. I actually used to play this game a whole lot back in 2011/12. It holds a special place in my heart. :P —Atvelonis (talk) 19:15, May 12, 2019 (UTC)
Hello! Thank you for reaching out and being our liaison. I think out current issue started with the change of staff at the publisher, and since then there has been an increase in the rate of content being released making it more difficult to stay on top of content releases while still playing the game. I know our Game Updates page is really behind partially due to this. Part of the issue with keeping up with content on the wiki is that due to off wiki responsibilities some community members which used to be more active editors, myself included, haven't been able to put as much time into wiki recently.
Hi, when you have time, can you please update the dragon variables data (not _2) to
- set thorn and darkling to permanent, and
- switch darkling's elements (i.e. Dark + Lightning. I guess it was changed to not conflict with Wisp).
Thank you for letting me know. I've been barely able to get into the game. It keeps crashing on me almost instantly upon loading since the last update during the event so I don't really know what has been happening much with the game content.
I noticed that alot of limited time dragons are not always fully updated> I was thinking of attempting to update them to the best of my extent, but I don't want to mess up infoboxes. I also am not sure how to change all things on infoboxes. Is there any tips for me to know? Also is there a page where I can see all the pages on the wiki?
I noticed that not all limited dragons are in the limited category so I will also add those. I am not great at writing or creating pages but I will do the best for me to update them. It will most likely be over this weekend and the weekend after that when I will do it.
I do not quite understand, however I learn better by seeing an example, I was wondering if you could change the quintessence dragon to showing that it is no longer available. I can then look at the changes you made for that specific example and can do that for other dragons that need it.
Hi Bane Cane,
As I maintain a list with all dragons with pictures from egg, baby, juvenile and adult I thought I might post the pictures missing on the wiki.
So I uploaded for example Scarab2.png (juvenile).
Then I realized that it would be even better if I fill those pictures in the dragon`s page.
I ended up with uploading the picture again as ScarabDragonJuvenile.png on the Scarab`s page.
My question :
If I upload a missing picture in the images tab with the right name, will the wiki find and display it on the corresponding dragon page, or do I have to upload it for that directly on the dragon page?
For Quintessence is the dargon variable 2 still missing so I can´t upload my pics on the dragon page yet. I uploaded the pics of Quintessence with another name in the images section.
would it have been better to name them QuintessenceDragonAdult.png (and so on) or would that be contraproductive ?
Hello, Thank you for uploading images. If the images are uploaded with the same name as the placeholder already on a page/pages on the wiki then it should automatically show in the location upon being uploaded. The information for the newest dragon still has to be added into the variable, but images could always be uploaded at the following links:
Hello! So, I had an idea for an easy way to change all content to available during Bring 'Em Back, but I'm not 100% sure what I wrote would work (I think it would). You can see what I wrote up here.
A summary of it is that in the Dragonbox and Decorationbox codes, it would change the Expired text to check a separate template if BEB is active. If it is active, it would show the content as Available, if not it would continue and show it as expired.
If this code works correctly (again, I'm not sure about it), and if it was implemented, then we would no longer need to individually change each dragon and decorations availability during Bring 'Em Back. To be implemented though, the Dragonbox/source and Dragonbox2/source would need to be edited by someone with permissions on the wiki. If you like the idea of this and would like it to be added to the wiki, I could test it with the decorationbox first because that doesn't require permissions at the moment.
I just wanted to suggest an easier way about this, if you don't like the idea then don't worry about it. ♥
But during BEB there is exempt content, the exempt content this BEB is Lokilure and Saccharine, the exempt content during July's BEB was content released during The Great Dragon Faire. That's why I suggested running it through a separate template that would check the pagename, if the pagename was listed in the template as exempt, it would return an empty value so it would appear as Expired. If the pagename is not listed, then it would return the value for #default which would be usually empty to return Expired but during BEB it would have some response which would cause pages to show as Available.
Plus, if you change Expired to read Available, then that would be changing 4 variables at the start and end of every BEB event, 2 of those variables are protected which means we would have to rely on edits made by staff.
Hey! You didn't respond, so I went ahead and tested it with Template:Decorationbox2. All decoration and pedestal pages using that template are now appearing as Available, except for the exemptions written in Template:BEBactive (Lokilure Pedestal, Saccharine Pedestal, Jadice Pedestal and Trepak Pedestal will appear as Expired).
I understand that the more time consuming part is adding the release history, but this is intended to just make the variable edits more easy for future Bring 'Em Back events. If my computer and I weren't currently dying (literal and non-literal) from how hot this summer has been, I would already be adding the release history to some pages.
Side note: I enjoy editing on this wiki, but I feel bad for how little I edited during December and I just want to apologise for that.
I'm interested in updating things like the Game Updates patch notes and front page material/latest events etc but I'm not sure of how to go about that process. I looked around the 'staff' pages but that info seems a smidge out of date.
We can make a new template for the updates since the Great Dragon Boat and add a variable to the toggle. It is good to not have too much information in each toggle for easier navigation and after that mark it seems like a new "chapter" opened up for the game.
