Game Description
Despite its name, the melancholy dragon isn't actually gloomy -- instead, this droopy-looking dragon seems to be more like a sadness-soaking sponge. Visitors claim that spending time with this dragon actually seems to lift their spirits, as if the melancholy dragon absorbs their troubles. In fact, it's not uncommon for magical healers to prescribe an afternoon with this adorably mopey dragon to cure a case of blue-hoos. Whether it works or not, the gloomy dragon doesn't seem to mind the company.

The Melancholy Dragon can be obtained by collecting a total of 5,495 during Gardenia's Gathering of Roses.

On January 27, 2016, the Melancholy Dragon's spot appeared in the Dragonarium, even though it had not been officially released into DragonVale yet.
- The button indicates "Not Available" and did not change even though the Gardenia's Gathering of Roses event started on January 28, 2016. Players would only be able to view the Melancholy Dragon's infobox in the Dragonarium once he/she obtains it by trading a certain amount of roses at the Rose Depot.
