Game Description
Lichen dragons can be found on the highest mountain peaks and furthest polar reaches throughout the world. Our wizards say that the unique substance growing on them is some sort of strange plant that feeds the dragons using sunlight. Or something. I didn't really understand it myself. Oh and be sure not to confuse lichen dragons with any other kind of supernatural beings, they've been known to take offense to that.
The wizards somehow found a way to prevent the Lichen Dragon egg from hatching while in your magical park by placing it on this pedestal. Unfortunately eggs placed on these can never be hatched while they remain on the grounds of your park. They sure do make neat decorations though!

Notes

The Lichen Dragon was released on March 21, 2012, along with the Metal Dragon, Iron Dragon, Mine Dragon, Brass Dragon, Magnetic Dragon, Rust Dragon, Chrome Dragon, Cactus Dragon, Shard of Tull, Metal Element Flag, Metal Dragon Boost, Metal Shrine, Metal Habitat and Large Metal Habitat.

Possible References

The Lichen Dragons description hints at how the word "lichen" is pronounced similarly to "lycan", which is another word for werewolf.
- This correlation in pronunciation was strengthened following the after the Lycan Dragon's release on October 15, 2015.
- Alternatively, it could be referring to the word "lich", a type of magical undead creature.
In real life, lichen is a symbiotic organism composed of a fungus and an alga. The Lichen Dragon's description refers to this when it mentions a "strange plant that feeds the dragon sunlight"; the algal part of the symbiont feeds the fungus using photosynthesis.
The description also refers to how lichen can grow in extreme habitat conditions when it mentions how the Lichen Dragon can live on "the highest mountain peaks and furthest polar reaches".
