Into the Wild was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect pine cones and trade them at the Campsite Merchant to receive rewards.
Pine cones needed to be collected and traded at the Campsite Merchant. Each reward required a certain amount of pine cones to be traded in to be earned.

What is the Into the Wild Event?[]
Into the Wild's objective was to collect pine cones.
The Help Menu in Into the Wild provided info on some key aspect of the event.
Tutorial[]
Into the Wild starts with a tutorial explaining how the event will work.
The process of this tutorial can be viewed in the gallery to the right.
The tutorial takes a few minutes to complete from beginning to end, but players received 100 as a goal completion reward after completing the tutorial.
The first time the tutorial shows up in your park, you are guided to click on the Campsite Merchant, then you are guided to the main tutorial page with rules and rewards tabs, but you can immediately X out of the tutorial without hitting any of the info boxes if you choose.
Earning Pine Cones[]
- Breeding Dragons and hatching Eggs
- Purchasing dragons with Gems
- Collecting from habitats (500 pine cones limit per day)
- Viewing visions from Tolzar
- Competing in the Colosseum and the Proving Grounds
- Playing mini-games at the Adventure Tent
- Finding the House Witches and Wizards in the park
- Collecting daily rewards at the Participation Station
Special Visitors[]
When there is a green banner around the "visitors" button, there are House Witches and Wizards in the park.
If tapped on, Gardenia, Lumi, and Whitbee will grant 10 on standard day / 20 on double day and 
20,000, while Kaleni and The Great Nogard will grant 10 on standard day / 20 on double day.
Gardenia would return after 12 hours in the daily cycle, and when tapped on will grant 10 on standard day / 20 on double day but no DragonCash.

Additional Gem Gifting[]
During Into the Wild, players could gift free gems to five additional friends per day. This meant that players could gift a minimum of 8 gems a day, while players who owned both the Dragonsai Bush and Dragonsai Gifting Tree could gift up to a maximum of 12 gems daily per park.
The daily device limit of 21 giftable gems was not increased.
Cooperative Breeding[]
During Into the Wild, players could breed with a level 5 Scout Dragon provided by the nonplayable character Kai in the Cooperative Breeding Cave. This Scout Dragon was level 10 in the Proving Grounds.

- On August 4, 2021 an event timer appeared in the game with a one-day countdown.
- The Twilight Tower received a new theme, Foreboding.
- The Dragonarium had a new subcategory, 'Camping', under the 'Special' category.
- Into the Wild began on August 5, 2021 and ended on September 15, 2021.
- The pine cones collection ran through September 12, 2021, and concluded on September 13 at the daily reset. The Campsite Merchant remained open for two additional days and closed on September 15, 2021 daily reset.
- On August 7, 2021, it was made possible to collect twice the amount of pine cones from completing the tasks in the Into the Wild event. This was a promotion and only lasted for 48 hours.
- On August 10, 2021, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 24 hours.
- On August 14, 2021, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 48 hours.
- On August 18, 2021, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 24 hours.
- On August 21, 2021, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 48 hours.
- On August 26, 2021, this promotion was repeated which lasted for 24 hours.
