Galaxy dragons are a special class of Epic Dragons which can only be bred through the Cooperative Breeding Cave, with the exception of the Solis, Lunis, and Rigel Dragon.
Each of these dragons, except for the Rigel Dragon, has a very low chance of being bred through cooperative breeding .The chances of each of these dragons being bred are lower than the other dragons in the game.
In order for the player to breed a Rigel Dragon, they must own all 22 other Galaxy Dragons. As a result of the prerequisites and also being a Rift-exclusive dragon, it is one of the most difficult dragons to obtain in DragonVale.

Each player receives a free Galaxy Dragon. New players obtain one once they unlock the level required for Galaxy Dragons. Existing players when Galaxy Dragons were first released were given an initial Galaxy Dragon from the first set below. The distribution of galaxy dragons depends on the activity of the park, and has various odds associated with certain Galaxy Dragons, making some more rare than others to obtain.
