- The Fire Dragon was released on September 14, 2011.
- On October 9, 2013, the Fire Dragon's purchase price, sell price, hatch experience, and breeding/incubation times were switched with the Earth Dragon's.
- There is no push notification for the completion of breeding or incubation of the Fire Dragon, as it is less than thirty minutes.
- Although it is not the first dragon available in the game, the Fire Dragon is considered the mascot of DragonVale:
- Three decorations dedicated to the Fire Dragon: the 1st Anniversary Statue, Fire Dragon Statue, and 10th Anniversary Statue.
- A baby Fire Dragon is depicted in the current and former application icons.
- An adult of Fire Dragon is featured in the icon of the "Every Last One" achievement.
- An adult Fire Dragon is the main character in the now-defunct game, DragonVale Wings.
- An adult Fire Dragon is seen on the Dragonarium if the player has acquired at least 135 stars.
- An adult Fire Dragon is featured on the Light Magic Event and Dark Magic Event loading screens.

- An adult Fire Dragon is also one of the dragons portrayed on the 3rd Anniversary Statue.
- As of June 29, 2016, the baby stage Fire Dragon is depicted on the "Dragons" icon in the market.
- On June 8, 2015, the Fire Dragon's appearance changed.
- Along with the Plant Dragon, the Fire Dragon does not have a goal for hatching it.
- In the initial release of DragonVale, the Fire Dragon was the third primary dragon; this changed in Update 2.0.
