Backflip Studios has organized and given events to the players of DragonVale to help with collecting all of the dragons in the game. Sometimes the events introduce new dragons to DragonVale.
The first event that was introduced in DragonVale was the Bring 'Em Back Event in the year 2012 which brought back all limited content in the game that was introduced before the event began.
There are some unique and major events with special items, rewards and limited currency such as the Light and Dark magic events. These type of events have more information on their respective individual pages which are linked in their respective section below.

The Traveling Dragon Faire
The Traveling Dragon Faire was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect magic and trade them at the Prize Pavilion to receive prizes. Prizes included new dragons and their pedestals: Daylily Dragon, Poshwing Dragon, Whirlwind Dragon, and Aquacorn Dragon, and the limited Triple Leap Year Dragon, Spectrapod Dragon, and Flickerflame Dragon, and some previous event dragons and pedestals.
Each prize required a certain amount of magic to be traded in to be earned. This event began on February 20, 2020, and ended on March 30, 2020 at 17:00:00 UTC, but the Prize Pavilion remained open until April 1, 2020 where players could still spend their remaining magic.

Gardenia's Color Guard was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect roses and trade them at the Bouquet Boutique to receive prizes. Prizes included five new Aura dragons and their pedestals: Daffadowndilly Dragon, Petunia Dragon, and the limited Begonia Dragon, Cyclamen Dragon and Amaryllis Dragon; the Aura Habitat and some previous event dragons and pedestals.
Each prize required a certain amount of roses to be traded in to be earned. This event began on February 14, 2019, and ended on March 18, 2019, but the Bouquet Boutique remained open until March 20, 2019 where players could still spend their remaining roses.

Prizes included ten new Chrysalis dragons and their pedestals: Busby Dragon, Rhinotorch Dragon, Dittoglide Dragon, Gildamane Dragon, Faux Dragon, and the limited Violetta Dragon, Serket Dragon, Morpho Dragon, Trilobite Dragon, and Pearlescent Dragon; the Harmonious Habitat, and some previous event dragons and pedestals.

Secrets of Spellform was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect magic and trade them at the Bizarre Bazaar to receive prizes. Prizes included ten new Enhanced dragons and their pedestals: Darcowl Dragon, Outrider Dragon, Quantum Dragon, Riptide Dragon, and the limited Armament Dragon, Dash Dragon, Sparkles Dragon, Vanguard Dragon, Psyche Dragon, Bastion Dragon, and the Valer-voted Fury Dragon and some previous event dragons and pedestals.
Each prize required a certain amount of magic to be traded in to be earned. This event began on June 20, 2019, and ended on August 19, 2019 at 17:00:00 UTC, but the Bizarre Bazaar remained open until August 21, 2019 where players could still spend their remaining magic.

Whitbee's Candy Bash VI: The Haunted Hunt
Whitbee's Candy Bash VI: The Haunted Hunt was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect candies and trade them at the Bizarre Bazaar to receive prizes. Prizes included new dragons and their pedestals: Eldritch Dragon, and the limited Charlatan Dragon, Scourge Dragon, Barbarous Dragon, Macabre Dragon, and Fulgurite Dragon, and some previous event dragons and pedestals.
Each prize required a certain amount of candies to be traded in to be earned. This event began on October 10, 2019, and ended on November 25, 2019, but the Bizarre Bazaar remained open until November 27, 2019 where players could still spend their remaining candies.

The Om of Noms is a special, limited time event by DragonVale during which previous Om of Noms limited contents are available for breeding or purchase, including 18 Om of Noms dragons, the Seasonal Theme and Harvest Theme. And some limited treats were available.
This event began on November 27, 2019, and ended on December 18, 2019.

Jolly Jubilee 2019
Jolly Jubilee was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect iceberries and trade them at the Mirthful Market to receive prizes. Prizes included new event dragons and their pedestals: Venture Dragon, Reminiscence Dragon, Harmony Dragon, Yule Dragon, and Spellmason Dragon; two golden hybrid dragons: Frond Dragon and Thrasher Dragon; and some previous event dragons and pedestals.
Each prize required a certain amount of iceberries to be traded in to be earned. This event began on December 19, 2019, and ended on January 27, 2020, but the Mirthful Market remained open until January 29, 2020 where players could still spend their remaining iceberries.

Gardenia's Gathering of Roses 2018 was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect roses and trade them at the Bouquet Boutique to receive prizes. Prizes included Amorous Adornment, Sentimental Sculpture, the new event dragons and their pedestals: Smitten Dragon, Sweetheart Dragon, Scorn Dragon, and the limited Spritely Dragon and Satin Dragon; the Aura Habitat and all Aura Dragons and pedestals.
Each prize required a certain amount of roses to be traded in to be earned. This event began on February 1, 2018, and ended on February 20, 2018, but the Bouquet Boutique remained open until February 21, 2018 where players could still spend their remaining roses.

Eggstraordinary Egg Hunt
The Eggstraordinary Egg Hunt was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect Magic Eggs and trade them at the Burcadian Bazaar to receive prizes. Prizes included Cocoahollow Dragon, Bilby Dragon, the Hidden dragons and their pedestals, including the new: Cumberpatch Dragon, and their Hidden Habitat; Chrysalis Habitat, all Chrysalis Dragons and their pedestals, and the Ovalith Dragon. Limited rewards consisted of the Rosebud Dragon.
Each prize required a certain amount of Magic Eggs to be traded in to be earned. This event began on March 08, 2018, and ended on April 02, 2018 at 17:00:00 UTC, but the Burcadian Bazaar remained open until April 03, 2018 where players could still spend their remaining Magic Eggs.

Star Fall 2018
Star Fall 2018 was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect star dust and trade them at the Astral Spire to receive prizes. Prizes included the Weather Station, the Twilight Tower, all available Galaxy Dragons and their pedestals, as well as the second, third and fourth Galaxy Islands, with the fifth, sixth and seventh Galaxy Islands being limited prizes.
Each prize required a certain amount of star dust to be traded in to be earned. This event began on May 2, 2018, and ended on May 14, 2018, but the Astral Spire remained open until May 15, 2018 where players could still spend their remaining star dust.

Treasure Hunt
Treasure Hunt was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect rings and trade them at the Bazaar of Brilliance to receive prizes. Prizes included the Gold Dragon, Platinum Dragon, Loot Dragon and Misfortune Dragon and their pedestals, as well as the Treasured Mystery Egg which rewarded the player with a Djinni Dragon, Opulent Dragon, Regal Dragon or Scarab Dragon.
Each prize required a certain amount of rings to be traded in to be earned. This event began on May 23, 2018, and ended on June 4, 2018, but the Bazaar of Brilliance remained open until June 5, 2018 where players could still spend their remaining rings.

The Great Dragon Faire 2018
The Great Dragon Faire 2018 was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect tickets and trade them at the Prize Tent to receive prizes. Nogard's Great Dragon Boat was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect magic and trade them at the Mainsail Market to receive prizes. Prizes included the Kaiju Dragon, Oracle Dragon and Totem Dragon and their pedestals, as well as the Surface Egg of Mystery and Chrysalis Egg of Mystery.

The Mythic Egg Hunt was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect Mythical Eggs and trade them at the Burcadian Bazaar to receive prizes. Prizes included Arc de Trieggs, Transfiguring Tree, Stone of Eggchantment, The Burcadian Monolith, Relic of the Epics, Lost Island, Monument of the Epics, Overgrown Path, Egg of Mystery which guaranteed the user a dragon they did not already have in their park with the first purchase, the new Hidden dragons and their pedestals: Stoneshell Dragon, Tulip Dragon, Tansy Dragon, Cumulus Dragon, and their Hidden Habitat; Chrysalis Habitat, all Chrysalis Dragons and their pedestals including the new Glowwing Dragon and Starwing Dragon. Limited rewards consisted of two surprise event dragons Plateau Dragon and Pond Dragon, Monolith Reward Habitat, and all six Monolith Dragons and their Pedestals.

Roar of the Rift
Roar of the Rift was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect Magic and trade them at the Prize Pavilion to receive prizes. At the beginning of the event prizes included seven new dragons, three new decorations, the return of the Egg of Mystery which guaranteed the user a dragon they did not already have in their park with the first purchase, the Olympus element dragons and pylon decorations from the Arcane Pentournament, and any respective pedestals. The new content included the Blightwing Dragon, Voltaic Dragon, Snowsquall Dragon, Spore Dragon, Alpenglow Dragon, Plant Rift Dragon, Fire Rift Dragon, Pentournal Pagoda, Altar of Awakening, and Floral Pannier.
Each prize required a certain amount of Magic to be traded in to be earned. This event began on July 6, 2017, and ended on August 30, 2017 at 17:00:00 UTC, but the Prize Pavilion remained open until September 3, 2017 where players could still spend their remaining Magic.

Whitbee's Candy Bash IV: Tails From The Campfire
Whitbee's Candy Bash IV: Tails From The Campfire was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect Candy and trade them at the Bizarre Bazaar to receive prizes. At the beginning of the event prizes included four new dragons, three new decorations, the return of many Spooky dragons, and any respective pedestals. The new content included the Oni Dragon, Dracabra Dragon, Gargoyle Dragon, Spirit Dragon, Broom-Eating Tree, Pumpkin Party, and Witch's Cauldron.
Each prize required a certain amount of Candy to be traded in to be earned. This event began on October 12, 2017, and ended on November 2, 2017, but the Bizarre Bazaar remained open until November 4, 2017 where players could still spend their remaining Candy.

|The Om of Noms 3 was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect Spice and trade them at the Copious Cornucopia to receive prizes. Prizes included Pumpkin Pad, Bounteous Basket, Egg of Mystery which guaranteed the user a dragon they did not already have in their park with the first purchase, new dragons and their pedestals: Bogberry Dragon, Bounteous Dragon, and Teozinte Dragon. Limited rewards consisted of two surprise event dragons Seraph Dragon and Plumpkin Dragon, and their Pedestals.
Each prize required a certain amount of Spice to be traded in to be earned. This event began on November 9, 2017, and ended on November 28, 2017 at 17:00:00 UTC, but the Copious Cornucopia remained open until November 29, 2017 where players could still spend their remaining Spice. On November 30, 2017, the remaining Spice is converted to DragonCash at a rate of 1000 DragonCash per Spice.

Bring 'Em Back was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which brought back all limited content in the game that was introduced before the event began, except for Om of Noms dragons. This event began on November 27, 2017, and ended on January 24, 2018.
Jolly Jubilee
Jolly Jubilee was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect iceberries and trade them at the Mirthful Market to receive prizes. Prizes included Frigid Formation, Great Snogard, Goody's Sugar Shack, the new event dragons and their pedestals: Kringle Dragon, Krampus Dragon, Candlecrown Dragon, and Woolen Dragon; the Omnitat, introducing a Large version of it.
Each prize required a certain amount of iceberries to be traded in to be earned. This event began on December 14, 2017, and ended on January 16, 2018.

Gardenia's Gathering of Roses is a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect roses and trade them at the Rose Depot later on to receive prizes. Prizes includes Bouquet Bubbler, Ardent Archway, Berrywhite Tree, and various Habitats or Epic Dragons.
Each prize required a certain amount of roses to be traded in to be earned. This event began on January 28, 2016, and ended on February 23, 2016 at 17:30:00 UTC.

Legendary Egg Hunt
Legendary Egg Hunt is a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect Legendary Eggs and trade them at the Eggschange Center later on to receive prizes. Prizes includes Fifth Monolith Pedestal, Shell of Surprise, Monolith Reward Habitat, Fiifth Monolith Dragon, Sixth Monolith Dragon, Chrysalis Habitat, Chrysalis Dragon, Lacewing Dragon, Swallowtail Dragon, and the Relic of the Epics.
Each prize required a certain amount of Legendary Eggs to be traded in to be earned. The total amount of Legendary Eggs needed to earn all of the prizes is 
101,220. This event began on March 10, 2016, and ended on April 5, 2016, at approximately 18:00:00 (UTC), but the Eggschange Center remained open until April 12, 2016 where players could still spend their remaining Legendary Eggs.

The Arcane Pentournament is a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect rings and trade them at the Prize Pavilion later on to receive prizes. Prizes includes Monument of the Epics, Relic of the Epics, Olympus Reward Habitat, various Epic Dragons or Habitats, and much more.
Each prize required a certain amount of rings to be traded in to be earned. This event began on June 30, 2016, and ended on September 14, 2016.

The Great Dragon Faire is a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect tickets and trade them at the Prize Tent later on to receive prizes. Prizes were broken down into phases. The first phase was Fireflight. Prizes under Fireflight included: Purple Dragon Figurine, Red Dragon Figurine, Fire Theme, Celestial Habitat, Dawn Dragon, Heated Air Balloon, Sun Theme, Midday Dragon, and the Twilight Tower.
The second phase was Frozen Floe. Prizes under Frozen Floe included: Blue Dragon Figurine, Azure Dragon Figurine, Snowflake Habitat, The Crystal Castle, Frozen Fountain, Second Snowflake Dragon, Fifth Snowflake Dragon, and the Goody's Treatery. The Tidal Dragon was released as a limited-time prize during the final 3 days of phase.
The third phase was Goldenleaf. Prizes under Goldenleaf included: Orange Dragon Figurine, Green Dragon Figurine, Treasure Theme, Bouncy Mushroom, Thorn Dragon, Omnitat, Dragonsai Bush, and the Loot Dragon.
The fourth phase was Boulderbright. Prizes under Boulderbright included: Brown Dragon Figurine, Sandy Dragon Figurine, Monolith Habitat, The Vernal Glass, Farry's Wheel, Lost Island, Second Monolith Dragon, and the Fifth Monolith Dragon.
The fifth phase was Spark in the Dark. Prizes under Spark in the Dark included: Indigo Dragon Figurine, Yellow Dragon Figurine, Meridiem Habitat, Whitbee's Castle, Earthen Altar, Dusk Dragon, Weather Station, and the Darkling Dragon. A new phase was set to start two weeks after the phase before.
The sixth and final phase was Grand Finale. Prizes under Grand Finale included: Rainbow Theme, Prism Dragon, Relic of the Epics, and the Faire Dragon. A new phase was set to start two weeks after the phase before. The Muse Dragon was released as a limited-time prize during the final 3 days of phase.
Each prize required a certain amount of tickets to be traded in to be earned. This was the first event that allowed a player to pick which prize they wanted in any order they wanted. This event began on July 16, 2015, and ended on September 22, 2015 at 17:00:00 UTC.

Gemstone Collection Comeback was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which brought back all Gemstone Dragons and their affiliated decorations in the game that was introduced before the event began, except for Ovalith Dragon and The Egg of Burcadia.
Backflip Studios allowed an opportunity for players to either breed or purchase them. This event began on May 16, 2014, and ended on May 19, 2014.
When the event started, the Emerald Dragon and Jade Dragon were already available with their affiliated decorations and continued to stay available during this offer.
When the event ended, all the dragons and decorations in the special offer left the market and became unavailable to be bred or purchased again.

Celestial Collection Comeback was a special, limited time event by DragonVale which brought back the dragons in the "Moon" and the "Sun" sub-category of the Dragonarium and their affiliated decorations which released prior to the event starting.
In the "News" section of the Social Menu the event was referred to as "Collection Comeback Summer Solstice Celebration" with an image of the "Sun" sub-category icon.
Backflip Studios allowed an opportunity for players to either breed or purchase them. This event began on June 20, 2014 and was originally scheduled to end on June 27, 2014.
On June 26, 2014, Backflip Studios made an announcement on their 
Facebook page that the event was being extended through June 29, 2014. This allowed players three more additional days to participate in the event.
The dragons which were brought back were the Lunar Eclipse Dragon, the Solar Eclipse Dragon, the Blue Moon Dragon, the Moonstruck Dragon, and the Equinox Dragon.
When the event started, the Solstice Dragon was already available with its affiliated decoration and continued to stay available during this offer.
When the event ended on June 30, 2014, all the dragons and decorations in the special offer including Solstice Dragon and Sun Stones left the market and became unavailable to be bred or purchased again.

Backflip Studios allowed an opportunity for players to either breed or purchase them. This event began on September 11, 2014 and ended on September 29, 2014.
The dragons which were brought back were the Paper Dragon and the Cotton Dragon, and the decorations which were brought back were the 1st Anniversary Statue and the 2nd Anniversary Statue.
When the event ended, all the dragons in the special offer left the market and became unavailable to be bred or purchased again.
Whitbee's Candy Bash
The Whitbee's Candy Bash is a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect candy and trade them at Whitbee's Castle later on to receive prizes. Prizes includes Whitbee's Lantern, Nosferatu Pedestal, Dark Island Theme, Nosferatu Dragon, Nosferatu Dragon, and the Spooky Island Theme.
Each prize required a certain amount of candy to be traded in to be earned. The total amount of candy needed to earn all of the prizes is 
5,520. This event began on October 9, 2014, and ended on November 4, 2014.

The Season of Goodies is a special, limited time event by DragonVale which required players to collect iceberries and trade them at the Crystal Castle later on to receive prizes. Prizes includes Crystalline Snowflake, First Snowflake Pedestal, Snowflake Habitat, First Snowflake Dragon, Wonderland Island Theme, Second Snowflake Pedestal, Second Snowflake Dragon, Goody's Treatery, Dragonsai Bush, and the Repeating Wonderland Themes.
Each prize required a certain amount of iceberries to be traded in to be earned. The total amount of iceberries needed to earn all of the prizes is 
9,600. This event began on December 18, 2014, and ended on January 12, 2015 at 17:30:00 UTC.

Last Call to cast Magic Notification
Light Magic Event was a special, limited time event by DragonVale that allowed players to earn reward habitats for Light Element Dragons. To obtain the Light Magic Event rewards, a player needed to cast Light Magic into the Tines of the Scar. During the Light Magic Event, five upgrades to the Light Vestige were able to be completed. Players were rewarded different reward habitats and Rift Eggs depending on the highest tier completed. This event began on October 9, 2013, and ended on November 5, 2013.
