• In Greek mythology, Erebus is a primordial deity representing darkness.
• There are a few references from the Monty Python inspired film Time Bandits:
  • When the main protagonist, Kevin, tried to introduce himself to Robin Hood, he only got the word "Keh" out because his friends were dragging him away.
  • In the finale, when the sorcerer known as "Ultimate Evil" was destroyed, he was scattered into dark chunks which looked liked Erebus Ostracon.
  • Keven woke up, as if from a dream, to find himself in his bedroom with his house on fire. The firemen said the fire was because of one of the black, smoldering pieces of the evil sorcerer found smoking in the microwave. Kevin yelled frantically "Don't touch it! It's Evil!"
• "Keh discovered a piece of the ancient tower" is reference to the definition of ostracon; a piece of pottery which is broken off from a vase.
