Game Description
The Tower of Erebus was laid waste when the Scar of the World was created. After dark magic returned to our world, the young wizard Keh discovered a piece of the ancient tower. He warned his wizard parents "Don't touch it! It's evil!" but they knew better and made a beautiful decoration from it. As Keh discovered, dark magic is not evil, just misunderstood.

Possible References

  • In Greek mythology, Erebus is a primordial deity representing darkness.
  • Mt. Erebus is also a volcano in Antarctica, named after HMS Erebus, one of two ships (the other being HMS Terror) in the ill-fated lost expedition of Sir John Franklin.
  • The Erebus Ostracon's description states, "Keh discovered a piece of the ancient tower". This is likely a reference to the definition of ostracon, a piece of pottery which is broken off from a vase.
  • There are a few references from the Monty Python inspired film Time Bandits:
    • The Erebus Ostracon's description mentions, "Keh". This is likely a reference to the scene when the main protagonist, Kevin, tried to introduce himself to Robin Hood, he only got the word "Keh" out because his friends were dragging him away.
    • The Erebus Ostracon's appearance is likely based on scattered dark chunks when the sorcerer, Ultimate Evil, was destroyed.
    • The Erebus Ostracon's description states, "He warned his wizard parents "Don't touch it! It's evil!"". This is likely a reference to the scene when Keven woke up, as if from a dream, to find himself in his bedroom with his house on fire. The firemen said the fire was because of one of the black, smoldering pieces of the evil sorcerer found smoking in the microwave. Kevin yelled frantically "Don't touch it! It's Evil!"
