Obtaining

The Dark Dragon is the tenth primary dragon in the game. It is available in the market for 3,000,000.

Alternatively, the Dark Dragon can be bred by selecting either a Dark Dragon or a Light Rift Dragon/ Dark Rift Dragon to mate with a Dark Dragon/Light Rift Dragon/ Dark Rift Dragon, in either order, at the Breeding Cave/Epic Breeding Island.

The Dark Dragon is unable to breed directly with the Light Dragon.

Notes

The Dark Dragon was released on November 15, 2013, along with the Root Dragon, Nightshade Dragon, Fungus Dragon, Watch Dragon, Dungeon Dragon, Cave Dragon, Dark Rift Dragon, Dark Element Flag, Erebus Ostracon, Dark Habitat, Large Dark Habitat, and the Giant Dark Habitat.
The in-game information for the Dark Dragon said that its incubation and breeding times were 10 hours when it was first released.
The Dark Dragon's hatch menu had an error when it was initially released, stating that the Dark Dragon was a hybrid, rather than a primary dragon.
- This was later fixed on January 22, 2014.
