The Cozy Dogen was released, along with the Bone Dragon, the Witch Hut, the Jack-O-Lantern, the Sandstorm Dragon, the Traditional Villa, the Thatched Roof Cottage, and the Fire Statue, on October 19, 2011.
On December 2, 2011, the Cozy Dogen was re-designed to have snow on it.
On December 21, 2012, the Cozy Dogen was decorated with holiday decorations for a limited time.
- On February 1, 2013, the holiday decorations on the Cozy Dogen were removed.

The Cozy Dogen is likely Backflip Studios' take on the houses from The Shire in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy by famous author, J. R. R. Tolkien. The Tols are likely a reference to a Hobbit, as a "race of half-sized men".
