Gemstone Dragons are the only type of dragon that can produce gems.
Gemstone Dragons are also categorized as Epic Dragons.
The Gemstone Dragons are named after the birthstone in the month that they are available.
Example : The Emerald Dragon was limited to the month of May, and the birthstone for May is the emerald. On June first, the Emerald Dragon left the market and could not be bred anymore. At the same time, the Pearl Dragon entered the market.
Breeding and incubation times are the same amount of hours as there are days in that gemstone's month. For example, the Peridot Dragon has a breeding and incubation time of 31 hours, because there are 31 days in August.
The February gemstone, Amethyst Dragon, was initially released with an error, in that the game description indicated the incubation time as 28 hours but the code required 30 hours. This was corrected shortly after release.
Be careful moving your Gemstone Dragons from one habitat to another. It resets the clock until their next gemstone payoff. For example, if you are expecting a gemstone in 2 days from your level 10 gemstone dragon, and move that gemstone dragon to another habitat, you will have to wait 7 days instead. However, the accumulation remains in the original habitat, so moving the dragon back to the original habitat will restart the "countdown" where it left off.
First Appearances
Note: When a new month starts the previous month's Gemstone Dragon is no longer able to be bred. Example: Emerald was unable to be bred when June started.
