Hello everyone,
It is me Bane Cane. The past week I've spoken with some community members who have mentioned that they have concerns about the current vetting system.
Although I was not glad to be told this, it was somewhat comforting to know that I was not the only one who has seen flaws in the wiki vetting system.
We have already tried to adjust the vetting policies twice, and it seems like there are still issues with the idea and it has never really worked for us.
The wiki has changed since the policies were voted on, and with change some things need to be looked at again.
As someone who has never been a fan of vetting and has only partaken in it because the community asked me to, I have a proposal I'd been working out the details of the past week.
One proposal is to remove staff vetting on staff related votes.
If more than 80% of the community votes in "Support" of a candidate then the candidate will automatically become a staff member on the DragonVale Wiki in that role.
If 50.01% to 79.9% of the community vote in "Support" of the candidate then the candidate will go through a one month probation period with the tools. At the end of the one month if more than 80% of the community votes in "Support" of the candidate keeping the tools the candidate will keep them. If less than 80% of the community votes in "Support" after the probation period the tools will be removed.
If less than 50% of the community votes in "Support" in the vote then the candidate does not receive the tools or a probation period.
Candidates can be nominated again three months from the end of their probation/end of the vote.
I am curious of what the community thinks of this idea.
Is this an idea the community feels like they can support?
