Notes
- Acid Dragon was released on January 27, 2014 along with Promethium Dragon, Radiant Dragon, and Palladium Dragon.
- Strangely, the Acid Dragon's description refers to the explorer it mentions as a male ("his jacket") despite Ellen being a typically female name, and the character it references being a woman.
- The in-game information for the Acid Dragon and the Promethium Dragon had their incubation (and breeding) times mixed up when they were first released.
- The Acid Dragon has no sound or cry.
Possible References
- Multiple references to the Alien film franchise:
- The name Ellen O'Mortson seems to be a combination of Ellen, the first name of the main protagonist - Ellen Ripley, and an anagram of Nostromo, the spaceship on which the majority of the first film (Alien) takes place. The O' may also be a reference to Dan O'Bannon, who wrote the first film's screenplay.
- The "derelict buildings of Geegur" are likely a reference to H. R. Giger, a surrealist artist who designed the eponymous alien of the Alien films.
- The story of the egg being carried inside the explorer's jacket, and then hatching onto the table is reminiscent of the famous scene in the first Alien film, when an alien bursts from the chest of one of the spaceship's crew members, after it has been incubating inside him since he was attacked by the larval form of the alien species.
- The baby Acid Dragon's design appears to be heavily based on the "chest-burster" stage of the alien's life cycle. As it grows, it begin's to look more like the adult alien, or "Xenomorph" as it is often known.
- The phrase "ripples of laughter" is likely another reference to Ellen Ripley, the franchise's main protagonist.
- The Goal text upon obtaining a Acid Dragon "It just wants to give your face a big hug" may be a reference to the first stage of the Xenomorph life cycle, called face-huggers.
- The name of the Acid Dragon probably arises from the fact that the Xenomorphs' blood is acidic, and some have the ability to spit acid.
