Twas a cold twinkling night, and all through the vale,
Not a dragon was stirring, not in wing nor in tail.
All the wizards and witches, and wizardlings too,
Warmed at home by the fire, with some iceberry brew.
And then all at once, there came a great boom,
Which awoke all the dragons, from winter to moon!
When they came to their senses to see what it was,
In a heap in the snow lay the famed Sandakloz!
The great wizard stood up and looked all around,
Then blew on a whistle that made a strange sound.
His team of cold dragons all answered the rally,
They gathered together to begin the tally.
He called to iceberg and ice, to arctic and snow,
To blizzard, to hail, to mischievous mistletoe!
By now, in the cold, the wizards had gathered,
So excited they were, the chill hardly mattered.
With his team rounded up, Sandakloz addressed all;
'I had a concern, before my rump broke my fall.'
'This year I was quite sure, would be the best,
'But we need far more berries, for this winter's fest!'
Taking up the bag of magic that he carries,
The wizard exclaimed, 'I'm all out of iceberries!'
Deeply troubled by the unfortunate sight,
The wizards conferred, to assist with this plight.
'Sandakloz', they said all at once, 'you musn't fear',
'Our season will be saved by the players this year!'
