- The Metal Element Flag was released on March 21, 2012, along with the metal element, Lichen Dragon, Cactus Dragon, Metal Habitat, Large Metal Habitat, Shard of Tull, Metal Dragon Boost, and the Metal Shrine.
- On December 21, 2012, the Metal Element Flag was decorated with holiday decorations for a limited time.
- On February 1, 2013, the holiday decorations on the Metal Element Flag were removed.
- Initially, the Metal Element Flag was available at level 17, but the level availability was changed on October 9, 2013, to level 18.
